Then talk to FLUX, experts in drum, IBC and tank and dispensing solutions.
Whatever your problem, whatever the liquid, whatever the viscosity, FLUX can probably help. Flammable liquids, food and beverage products, aggressive acids and alkalis, oils and greases − we can pump and dispense them all. Both electric and compressed air powered solutions are available.
We can dispense from any vessel - drum, barrel, IBC or tank. High or low viscosity. From simple, low cost solutions, through to bespoke systems for permanent installation.
Manual Filling Systems
FLUX offers pre-configured pump sets consisting of pump, drive motor, hose, hose clamps, hand nozzle and compression gland to secure the pump in your container. An ideal solution for manually controlled transfer of almost any liquid. Please do not hesitate to call if you require pump selection advice.
Pump kits are available for almost any low viscosity liquid:
Acids and lyes, concentrated acids, AdBlue®, mineral oil products, highly flammable liquids, food products, fruit juices and 99.98 % emptying applications.
FLUX pump kits can be combined with a range of accessories, eg. vapour control, wall mounting bracket, lifting hoist, to form a customized solution for your particular application. Or add a FLUX flow meter to measure flow and monitor product demand.
Please contact us to discuss high viscosity applications.
Flux-Fill GT Dispensing Systems
With FLUX-FILL GT, low viscosity fluids can be dispensed quickly, efficiently and safely. An accurate digital scale ensures filling is completed according to pre-packaging regulation (FPackV). The programmable digital user interface allows fluids to be dispensed into a wide variety of containers, using the above-surface method. Flux-Fill is particularly well suited to filling small and medium-sized containers, with and without container changes. Ideal for operational dispensing applications as well as filling containers for re-sale.
Liquid feed is provided by a reliable Flux drum or IBC pump, or via a hermetically sealed, self-priming magnetic-drive pump.
The system is supplied complete with application specific accessories such as hoses, hose connections, valves and fume control glands, as appropriate. Please call us to discuss your requirements in further detail.
Safetec Dispensing Systems
All over the world, the requirement for safer chemical handling, environmental protection and sustainability is steadily increasing. For these reasons, more chemicals are now brought to market in sealed drums or IBC containers that are emptied using a permanently installed immersion tube, requiring a suction removal process.
It is not possible to empty such full containment IBC’s with classic drum and container pumps, as there are no openings for inserting these pumps. A self-priming pump is required for emptying the container, via the immersion tube. For this purpose, FLUX has developed the SAFETEC pump set. The pump set contains all components required for safe emptying of full containment drums and IBC’s.
Liquid Dispense Controller
The FLUXTRONIC® controller is combined with FMC/FMO flowmeter to deliver safe, accurate, filling and dispensing of almost any liquid, from 250 ml to 500+ kg. Typical accuracy <1%. There are two operating options. In normal mode only the delivered volume is displayed. In automatic mode the system will dispense pre-programmed quantities automatically at the push of a button. When the operator requests liquid delivery, signals are sent to run pump motor (usually when dispensing from a barrel, IBC or tank), open a valve at the dispensing point (or a tank outlet). Signals can also be sent to a control panel or PLC if required.
IBC Dispensing Systems
FLUX offers more than just pumps. As well as a great range of pumps and drive motors, FLUX has an extensive range of ancillary products and accessories. After analysis of the application by a FLUX consultant, complete customized solutions are developed. These can extend from small-scale product configurations through to complex systems.
Drum, Barrel & IBC Pump Kits
These for different applications pre-assembled pump kits consisting of motor, pump, hose, hand nozzle and compression gland are ideal for fast use. They are designed for emptying containers such as 200 l drums and IBCs.
Low Viscosity Barrel Pumps
The FLUX name has been associated with barrel pumps for over 65 years. Flux introduced the world's first electric barrel pump back in 1950 and has been innovating ever since. 1953 - First ATEX barrel pump, 2003 - First brushless ATEX barrel pump motor, 2014 - First brushless battery motor for barrel pumps. Flux pumps are used in the toughest applications by some of the world's largest companies for example, Rolls-Royce, Shell, BASF and Haribo.
Select F300 or F400 series pump depending on duty cycle and application - both are axial impeller designs providing pulsation free pumping action. Pumps are available for industrial, agricultural, cosmetics, pharmaceutical and chemical industries, including ATEX (Ex) approved pumps for handling flammable liquids. FLUX food pumps are compliant with EC directive 1935/2004, FDA CFR 21 and some versions also have 3A sanitary approval.
Flux can provide a complete range of barrel pump accessories including flowmeters, hoses, dispense nozzles and even complete automatic filling systems. The pump selection advice page will help you select the right pump for your application - alternatively call our sales team for further assistance.
Progressive Cavity Pumps VISCOPOWER
FLUX VISCOPOWER progressive cavity pumps are suitable for pumping thin to high-viscosity fluids. The displacement pumps work with low turbulence at a constant pressure and provide for a gentle and pulsation-free operation. The VISCOPOWER progressive cavity pumps can be designed for industrial applications as well as for the pharmaceutical, food and cosmetic (hygienic) sectors. All progressive cavity pumps VISCOPOWER are mobile and stationary, consist of only a few components and are easy and quick to dismantle.
There is a choice of versions for immersing in the material and for installing outside the container; versions with explosion protection, 3-A certification and FLUX FOOD pumps (Directive (EC) 1935/2004 and FDA CFR 21 compliant). For connection of the motor there is a choice between bearing flange and gear. For pumping especially high-viscosity media there are drum emptying systems VISCOFLUX with progressive cavity pumps available.
High Viscosity Drum Emptying Systems
VISCOFLUX drum emptying systems were specially developed for emptying lidded drums with high-viscosity contents. The media is continuously and carefully extracted with a FLUX progressive cavity pump. All systems achieve almost complete emptying of the drum with < 1 % residual amount (under 2 % for drums with inliners).
VISCOFLUX Lite is ideal for pumping high-viscosity media barely capable of flowing. VISCOFLUX mobile are capable of pumping high-viscosity media not even capable of flowing by themselves, for example tomato puree or Vaseline.
Immersion Pumps
ATEX Pumps & Motors
All Flux ATEX pumps are constructed from 316 Stainless Steel, with conductive ETFE impellers. Pumps for low-viscosity applications include the FP424, F430S, and F425 Series. F430S FOOD is also approved for sanitary use (EC 1935/2004 standard) and is particularly well suited to pumping alcohols. The Viscopower Series is designed for use with high-viscosity fluids (max viscosity 30,000 cP). ATEX-certified drive motors include electric commutator motor F460, brushless motor FBM 4000, and compressed air motors F416 and FPM.
Food Grade Drum Pumps
The Flux FOOD series includes low viscosity barrel and IBC pumps FP427 and FP430, and high viscosity eccentric worm drive pumps F560S and F560GS. All pumps have hygienic clamp connections. Pump bodies and welds are treated and highly polished to minimise “dead spots” and these pumps are easy to dismantle and clean. The FP430 FOOD pump features explosion protection for transfer of alcohols and can be used to pump liquids containing small solids. F560 offers gentle, pulsation free product transfer and will handle soft solids up to 10 mm in size without damage, due to the progressive cavity design.
We recommend the F458 series drive motor for use with these pumps. This metal bodied motor is IP55 rated, internally cooled and fully sealed, therefore perfect for use in sanitary applications. The IP55 F460 Ex motor should be used with the F430 FOOD pump for handling alcohols. Flux can also provide a range of approved accessories for use with FOOD pumps including discharge spouts, manual and automated valves, hand nozzles, swaged fittings and discharge hoses.

Battery Pumps
The upgraded 2.5 Ah Li-ion battery can be recharged within 55 min and replaced in seconds. 230V or 110V chargers are available. The FBM-B 3100 motor is fitted with infinitely variable speed control switch, allowing the user to accurately control flow rate. This means a 200 l drum can be emptied in 3 minutes (at maximum motor speed), or over fifteen x 200 litre drums can be emptied with one battery charge (at minimum motor speed).
The modular design means different pumps can be driven by the same motor. The user could choose to dedicate a pump tube to a product and move the motor between pumps, providing an economical solution to pumping smaller quantities. Please click the links to FBM-B 3100 motor and CombiFlux FP314 below to select the correct pump material for your application. Note the battery pump is designed for liquids of max viscosity 250 mPas, and max density 1.2. Higher viscosity and density liquids may adversely affect flow rates and run times.
Flux Air-Operated Diaphragm Pumps
Be it viscous products, solids in suspension, abrasive fluids, highly flammable or aerated liquids: FLUX air operated diaphragm pumps meet most demands with high operational safety and reliability. These self-priming positive displacement pumps have many benefits. Flow rate is infinitely variable via air pressure adjustment. Flow rates can be calulated easily by using an optional stroke counter. Intergrated silencers minimise noise output. ATEX and food certified versions are available if required.
Heavy duty (RFM) models are solidly constructed with matched diaphragms. They are specially designed for continuous duty applications. They ensure smooth, low shear liquid transfer, safe dry running and are completely overload-proof. These pumps can be easily dismantled for cleaning or service.
Injection-moulded/cast (FDM) pumps are available in aluminium, cast iron, stainless steel and acetal body materials, with a wide range of elastomer options. These air operated diaphragm pumps have stall-free air valves and can deliver high pressures up to 8 bar.
ARO® Air-Operated Diaphragm Pumps
The compressed air-driven diaphragm pumps from ARO® provide a flexible solution for pumping products ranging from clean, slightly viscous materials to corrosive, abrasive, medium-viscosity media as well as coarse-grained solids. You stand to gain from industry-leading efficiency, reliability and tried-and-tested performance. All ARO® double diaphragm pumps are available with folded diaphragms, delivering longevity and less maintenance.
ARO® also supplies a large choice of very varied materials, connections and versions with FDA approval for hygiene applications and ATEX certification for areas protected against explosion (CE Ex II 2GD X).
We also supply a large choice of special pumps, such as powder pumps, high-pressure pumps, pumps with flap valves and an extensive range of accessories.
Flow Meters
FLUX flow meters are constructed on the nutating disc (FMC), oval rotor (FMO) or turbine principle (FMT), offering the right solution for every application. Depending on model and overall size, they can be used with FLUX drum pumps or stationary e.g. in fixed pipe lines.
Using the Fluxtronic digital display with FMC or FMO meter, filling and metering processes can be carried out for virtually all liquids with maximum precision and the greatest possible safety. In automatic mode, it’s possible to accurately dispense pre-set volumes (or weights) and even output pulse signals to external equipment for data recording.
IBC & Tank Mixers & Stirrers
Anyone wanting to disperse, emulsify, homogenise, chill, dissolve, mix, neutralise, stir, circulate or exchange heat efficiently is faced with a demanding task − from a technical and physical point of view. The mixing effect depends on the shape of the container, the material and of course the type of mixer.
Due to the FLUX flexible modular system, we are able to offer a wide range of options. This makes it possible to configure the mixer components - motor, shaft and mixing blade - optimally for each application. If low speed is required, slow running versions can be configured which are provided with intermediate gear and special mixing blades. FLUX mixers are available in various materials and with different mixing blades. Please call us for assistance
Pump Motors
For driving the FLUX pump a wide range of electrical to pneumatic motors is available. Even if you work in hazardous areas or with flammable liquids. Depending on the application, different pumps can be driven by different motors. Thus, the output of a drum pump depends, among other things, on the power of the motor. Here you will find the most economical and safest drive solution for your application.
Mobile Pump Solutions
The solutions to some tasks make additional designing necessary. This too is carried out by FLUX in-house.
Depending on the task involved the appropriate specialist is drawn from a team of multiple experts. Irrespective of whether a minor or major design assignment is concerned − FLUX maps out the complete process from the idea to the finished custom solution including documentation compliant with Machine Directive 2006/42/EC.
Flux Pump Accessories
To supplement the diverse range of pumps, FLUX has a wide range of accessories. FLUX accessories provide smooth, safe running and make work easier. For example, lift a FLUX pump out of the drum without any exertion thanks to the carrying handle and spring balancer. Space saving storage equipment allows pumps to be easily stored. Furthermore for every application there is the right hose - pre-configured and integrated in the required length.
For typical drum pump applications there are pre-configured pump sets available. Whether for mobile or static deployment - with the FLUX range of accessories a FLUX pump can be turned into a custom-made pumping system for any application.
Solenoid Valves & Controlled Valves
With a suitable valve and additional accessories a FLUX pump becomes a tailor-made conveying system (cf. pages 36 and 37). Collaboration with different suppliers makes the best choice for each application.
Pump Suction Strainer
When using open containers impurities cannot always be excluded. Strainers mounted on the pump inlet help to protect the pump against damage.
Pump Hoses
There is a hose for every application − pre-configured and cut to the required length.
