We will attend site and collect samples of the suspect materials for laboratory analysis.
Some typical asbestos containing products include; floor coverings and adhesives, textured coatings (artex), sprayed coatings, Pipe insulation, cement roofs or rainwater goods, asbestos (AIB or cement) panels to ceilings, walls, boxing, beam cladding, electrical panels, asbestos ropes and fabrics, mastics, bitumen based products etc.

The Control of Asbestos Regulations (2012) Reg. 4 requires that asbestos is managed within all non-domestic properties and common areas of domestic properties.

Some factors to consider when planning a refurbishment or demolition project are whether or not a suitable asbestos survey has been undertaken.
Training
As part of the current Regulations, the Control of Asbestos Regulations (2012) requires that anyone who is likely to come into direct contact with an asbestos containing material (ACM) through work related activities should receive awareness training.
The group of people most likely to come in to contact with asbestos are normally associated with the maintenance or installation of services into a pre 2000 constructed building and include, general maintenance staff, plumbers, joiners and electricians, heating and ventilation engineers, fire and security alarm installers and IT cable installers or engineers.

Asbestos Project Management
As we are not currently UKAS accredited, we cannot offer air monitoring services, however we can work with you on the compilation of Scope of Works for tenders, undertake site visits with potential tenderers including Q&A sesion, vetting of Licensed Asbestos Removal Contractors (LARC) and analysts on your behalf as part of the tender returns as well as looking at the pricing information returned to you.
During the removal phase we can audit the standards of both the LARC and the analyst so you don't have to spend valuable time on site
If necessary, identifying areas for improvement both inside the enclosures and surrounding areas as well as determining if the air monitoring strategy is suitable for the circumstances.
On completion of the removals we can undertake a further audit of the site to confirm that the work has been carried out to a satisfactory standard and if not, highlight any areas which may require further remedial action.
Forth Asbestos Service can work with your contractors to ensure that work is not held up unnecessarily.

Complimentary Services
In addition to our asbestos services we can also collect samples of paint for lead content, plaster for anthrax content and moulds for biological analysis such as Aspergillus. The analysis and interpretation of results is undertaken by an appropriately qualified and accredited laboratory.
