Bespoke Automation

Bespoke Automation

Industrial Automation and Process Automation are, by their very nature complex subjects

GB Innomech take a step by step approach to evaluate the project approach, feasibility and the risk.

We have the expertise and experience to analyse, design and implement prototypes or full industrial process automation or laboratory automation equipment.

We do this across all industry sectors, using diverse technologies, including vision inspection systems, robotics and accurate product placement systems for a range of clients.
Medical Device Automation

Medical Device Automation

The medical division is headed by Dr Peter Woods − an acknowledged expert in automation in the pharmaceutical industry, with his vast experience in developing automated manufacturing systems for the assembly and test of medical devices.

Peter leads a multi-disciplinary team to design and build automation equipment for developers and manufacturers of products such as drug delivery pens, contact lenses, diagnostic kits and surgical instrumentation. Innomech offers everything from feasibility studies through to large-scale system builds. Every system is developed in parallel with a detailed validation document package, including Installation and Operational Qualification (IQ/OQ), CFR21 part11 conformity, Gauge R&R and other relevant studies to enable fast and low cost regulatory compliance.

The company’s track record includes developing machinery for most of the world’s top pharmaceutical companies, as well as many early-stage technology businesses looking to bring first products to market.
Renewables

Renewables

Based in the award winning innovation centre, our carbon neutral offices and workshop, GB innomech has experience of building automated systems for building and recycling hydrogen fuel cells.

We have also worked on projects using vision systems to reduce product waste and the recovery of chemicals which otherwise would have gone to waste as well as a feasibility study for solar tracking EV panels.
Industrial Automation

Industrial Automation

The diversity of experience that our automation engineering team has gathered over the years, producing automated systems and special purpose machines, enables us to confidently select and combine the best industrial automation techniques based upon a sound understanding of their benefits and possible limitations, integrating these into your application. Being able to combine different automation technologies, with confidence, enables us to design and build innovative automation solutions that will reduce product cost and improve product quality.

Our special purpose machines often integrate robotic handling, vision systems, PLC / PC based control systems, electro-mechanical and pneumatic positioning systems to reduce risk, increase consistency and quality, and speed up your production processes.
Prototyping & Innovation

Prototyping & Innovation

As part of GB Innomech’s structured approach to projects prototypes can be used to prove proof of principle and design concepts when analysing and mitigating risks. On smaller test rig applications this may well involve producing the entire device, or for larger machines specific functions can be tested in isolation at an early stage to test viability and influence the final design of both the product and the automation.
Procurement & Build

Procurement & Build

Innomech’s document management system allows the Bill of materials to be referenced with our trusted supplier order numbers and internal part numbers, which are in turn referenced to the final build document permitting traceability to component level.

All machines are built within the Innovation centre, the company’s award winning purpose built 60,000 square feet carbon neutral facility.
Integration & Testing

Integration & Testing

Whether a machine has minimal control components or is a large integrated complex machine, the safety aspects, functionality and recovery aspects all have to be thoroughly tested against safety, specifications and failure effect documents. Sub systems can be tested in isolation, but also need to be tested as an integral part of the machine. GB Innomech can produce the required documentation for system tests, safety tests and functional tests and test the machine ensuring that the machine attains the required specifications and standards.
Validation

Validation

For many Industries Validation and verification are now key parts of any project deliverable.

Innomech can provide a full validation service based on over 20 years experience from delivering projects to the highly regulated pharmaceutical industry.

Innomech’s quality management system, based on Gamp 5 and ASTM E2500, provides revisioned documents, component traceabilty and conformance certification. In addition Innomech can also produce Installation and Operation Qualification (IQ/OQ) documentation as well as Gauge R&R and other relevant studies to facilitate the project implementation.
On-Site Assistance

On-Site Assistance

We know that for most customers, the delivery of the machine is just the beginning of an integration, training and validation process. As well as providing the necessary documentation, our team can also provide on-site assistance during these early stages.

If for any reason the machine needs to be altered or updated after delivery, Innomech can also provide remote assistance for software updates, on-site assistance for more involved alterations, as well as providing all the relevant documentation for revalidation and revisioned updated specifications.
Robot Integration

Robot Integration

Innomech has developer partnerships with with ABB, Toshiba and Mistubishi for robot supply, but our evaluation of your process may dictate alternate technology. Our engineers have experience of integrating a variety of robotic equipment provided by many of the established robotic manufacturers.
Automated Testing

Automated Testing

Innomech have provided many of the leading medical device and pharmaceutical companies with validated End Of Line Testing (EOLT) equipment. These EOLT’s have been either stand-alone machines, which involve manual loading and unloading, or have been integrated into automated assembly machines to produce a complete assembly and test process.
Process Automation

Process Automation

Innomech’s industry seasoned automation consultants have the diversity of experience to confidently select and combine techniques based upon a sound understanding of their benefits and possible limitations and integrate these to your application. Being able to combine different technologies, with confidence, enables us to design and build innovative, bespoke automation solutions that will reduce product cost and improve product quality.
