Commander Automatic Road Blocker
The Commander Automatic Road Blocker is the world’s only security barrier PAS68 tested to stop a 30 tonne truck travelling at 80 kph (50 mph). Following the crash test, the road blocker continued to function.
Halting a 30 tonne truck at 80 kph (50 mph) is officially the highest ever impact energy test successfully undertaken on a security barrier. Not only this, but the automatic road blocker also achieved a zero penetration result.

Viper Shallow Mounted Road Blocker
Heald’s Viper is an imposing security roadblocker which due to its ingenious British folding design, only requires a very shallow foundation depth. The shallow mount road blocker has been tested to both PAS68 and ASTM standards to give you the ultimate perimeter protection.
During crash testing, the Viper roadblocker halted a 7.5 tonne truck travelling at a speed of 80 kph (50 mph) and continued to function afterwards. The Viper was tested against an N3 vehicle, which are difficult to stop due to their size in comparison to other vehicles.
In house testing at Heald’s factory has guaranteed that the Viper has a proven reliability, with a 200,000 cycle test report.
During crash testing, the Viper roadblocker halted a 7.5 tonne truck travelling at a speed of 80 kph (50 mph) and continued to function afterwards. The Viper was tested against an N3 vehicle, which are difficult to stop due to their size in comparison to other vehicles.

Our PAS68 Road Blockers are the perfect solution for security installations where a high profile deterrent is required and have been tested to stop a 7.5 tonne truck travelling at 80 kph (50 mph).

Due to Heald’s world leading design and manufacturing, all of our hydraulic road blocker models continue to function following impact, ensuring ongoing protection and access for emergency services vehicles. Raptor Retractable Bollards
Heald’s Raptor is a patent protected retractable security bollard, crash tested to both PAS68 and ASTM standards. Following crash testing, the Raptor received a zero penetration result and operated after impact.

Heald’s Apex Static Bollard (UK Design number: 6145254) provides a shallow mount solution that is flexible and can easily adapt to a wide variety of locations due to its modular design.
The Apex Bollard was designed to enable simple and fast bollard installation in either a straight line or a curved array. The circular bollard is suitable for a variety of aesthetic finishes and covers, providing a seamless perimeter to both historic and contemporary architecture.

Bridge Bollard Expansion Joint
Heald’s Synergy Bridge Bollard System Expansion Joint consists of a 5400mm barrier creating a free space of 4000mm between the two bollards as part of the Heald Bridge Bollard System. This unit was designed to provide capacity for bridge expansion, allowing for lateral movement of up to 150mm. The unique design requires no pinning and no excavation into the carriageway.
Although the Bridge Bollard Expansion Joint has been designed to address the challenges specifically faced in protecting bridges, it is also ideal for any locations where even bolting to the ground is not possible. The opening provided by the Expansion Joint unit is beneficial to provide protection over areas with manhole covers or near-surface utilities which prevent the installation of bollards. This will allow for a continuous line of hostile vehicle mitigation protection.

Hydra Range Remote Control & Monitoring System
Heald’s Hydra is a remote control and monitoring system, designed to simplify and streamline interaction with automated roadblockers and bollards, whilst adding more remote functionality.
The Hydra allows access via a range of devices including tablet, desktop and laptop PCs and even mobile phones via SMS. This opens up a range of possibilities for both monitoring and control.
The status of a blocker or bollard can be checked simply by texting the Hydra, which will reply with a status update SMS. Blockers and bollards can also be opened and closed by sending an SMS. The Hydra can be set to text regular updates to a user’s phone, or to text only when an issue is detected. This means that notification of a problem can be instantaneous, anywhere in the world with a mobile phone signal.

Heald’s fixed or swinging height restrictor barriers are designed to give a highly visible warning in areas where vehicle height is restricted such as underground car parks.
Our fixed model is ideal if a permanent height restriction is in place and our swinging height restrictor is intended for sites where high-sided vehicles, such as refuse lorries or delivery vans, require occasional access.
Both models are manufactured from heavy duty steel and aluminium with a galvanised, primed and painted finish.
