Constant Wattage Heating Cables
Our PowerHeat (AHT) is a unique patented, high power, high temperature constant wattage cable. It has an aluminium outer jacket giving it a very high mechanical strength. It has a maximum temperature of 500°C (932°F) makes it the highest temperature rated cut-to-length heating cable in the world!
MicroTracer (EMTS)
MicroTracer (EMTS) is particularly suited to refrigeration applications, small bore instrument lines or process pipework located in non-hazardous areas. MicroTracer (EMTS) is made from silicone rubber and as a result is very flexible and suited to applications where flexibility is important.
MicroTracer (EMTS) can be cut-to-length on site to match exact piping lengths without any complicated design considerations.
MicroTracer (EMTF)
MicroTracer (EMTF) is particularly suited to refrigeration applications, small bore instrument lines or process pipework located in non-hazardous areas.
MicroTracer (EMTF) can be cut-to-length at site to match exact piping lengths without any complicated design considerations.
MicroTracer (EMTF) has a fluoropolymer outer jacket (EMTF-CF) and so offers excellent corrosion resistant properties.
MicroTracer (EMTF) can be cut-to-length on site to match exact piping lengths without any complicated design considerations.
MiniTracer (MTF)
MiniTracer (MTF) is particularly suited to applications requiring longer circuit lengths than those available for MicroTracer (EMTF).
MiniTracer (MTF) has Factory Mutual (IEEE) approval for use in non-hazardous and hazardous areas.
MiniTracer (MTF) has a fluoropolymer outer jacket (MTF-CF) and so offers excellent corrosion resistant properties.
MiniTracer (MTF) can be cut-to-length on site to match exact piping lengths without any complicated design considerations.
Longline Heating Cables
However, an advantage is that long circuit lengths are possible using our Longline range of heater cables. Typically 3-phase Longline heating cables require electric supply points only at multi-kilometre intervals. Due to this, the number of power points required is dramatically reduced and can offer signifcant CAPEX savings.
We can produce series resistance heating cables within the following ranges:
Up to 6600 Volts 3 phase
Up to 230°C (446°F) withstand temperature
Up to 50 W/m of output
Longline Round (LLR)
Longline Round (LLR) provides constant power per unit length without voltage drop along the length. Hence round heating cable may be provided for single or 3phase connection.
The continuous metal jacket allows for increased mechanical strength, reducing the risk of damage and providing superior fire-resisting properties compared with most heating cables.
Longline Round (LLR-HV)
Longline Round (LLR-HV) provides constant power per unit length without voltage drop along the length. Hence round heating cable may be provided for single or 3phase connection.
The continuous metal jacket allows for increased mechanical strength, reducing the risk of damage and providing superior fire-resisting properties compared with most heating cables.
Mineral Insulated (MI) Cables
MI heating cable can be used for applications with the following requirements:
Single and dual core series heating resistance cable, magnesium oxide insulated
The length and resistance of the cores determine the output of the cable
Constant power output not affected by temperature variations
Maximum working voltage up to 600 V - Please contact Heat Trace for higher voltage applications.
Output power up to 300 W/m
Highest maintain temperature up to 800 °C
Maximum exposure temperature up to 800 °C

Termination Methods
Standard Termination involves the use of conventional plastic or metal cable glands. These glands are specifically made for our heating cables. Cable Glands are normally supplied in termination kits. The kits are available for safe and hazardous areas and contain all the parts required for connection to the power and to terminate the end of the cable. Kits also contain a caution label and cable identification tag.
DESTU Termination
The DESTU system, for safe and hazardous areas, reduces the risk of damage to the heating cable as it emerges from the thermal insulation for connection into the junction box. DESTU is available for power termination, in-line splice and tee splice terminations.
AJB/D Junction Box
The AJB/D Junction Box is designed for use with electric trace heating systems and is available for use in both safe and hazardous areas. IP66 rated, with a full range of accessories and termination kits available.

About us
Founded in 1974, Heat Trace Ltd is now a top global supplier of electric heat tracing equipment for process temperature maintenance and freeze protection.
With offices, distributors, and representatives in more than 50 countries, we offer a range of complementary products and services alongside our heat tracing solutions.
Our Products Include:
Self-Regulating Heating Cables
Since their launch in 1971, self-regulating heating cables (also known as self-limiting heating cables) have become the most widely used type of electric heat tracing cable globally. Heat Trace is the only UK manufacturer of self-regulating heating cables and among a select few worldwide. We are recognized as leaders in heating cable polymer technology, offering a range of self-regulating heaters that outperform other products on the market.
Constant Wattage Heating Cables
We have been manufacturing constant power heating cables for over 40 years and introduced the world's first parallel resistance cut-to-length heating cable in 1978. As the name implies, Constant Wattage heating cables are designed to provide a consistent power output regardless of the pipe temperature.
Longline Heating Cables
For extensive pipelines, parallel heating technology can be expensive due to the extensive electrical distribution systems needed. However, our Longline range of heater cables allows for long circuit lengths, typically requiring electric supply points only at multi-kilometre intervals for 3-phase cables. This significantly reduces the number of power points needed, resulting in considerable CAPEX savings.
Mineral Insulated (MI) Cables
Mineral Insulated Cable is recognised as the most durable electric heat trace cable available. It is the best option when the temperature and power output requirements of an application surpass what our self-regulating and constant wattage cables can provide.
… And more.
When Neil Malone founded Heat Trace in 1974, electric heat tracing was still in its early stages. Over the past four decades, it has evolved into a substantial industry built on quality principles.
During this period, Heat Trace Limited has been a leader in the heat tracing industry, actively contributing to the development of standards, starting with BS6351 - Electric Surface Heating, the first British standard published in 1982, and continuing with IEC60079/30 − a harmonised World Standard introduced in 2001.
From the beginning, Heat Trace created products and systems that not only complied with new standards but also aligned with the company’s goals of enhancement.
