Pointek CLS100 Capacitance Level Switch

T

he Pointek CLS 100 is a compact 2-wire inverse frequency shift capacitance level switch. Primarily used for level detection in constricted spaces, interfaces, solids, liquids, slurries and foam. Pointek CLS 100’s short insertion length of 100 mm and versatility makes it a good replacement for traditional capacitance sensors. Its advanced tip-sensing technology provides accurate, repeatable switch point performance. The PPS probe (optional PVDF) is chemically resistant with an effective process operating temperature range from -30 to +100 °C. The fully potted design ensures reliability in a vibrating environment such as agitated tanks up to 4 g. When used with a SensGuard protection cover, the CLS 100 is protected from shearing, impact, and abrasion in tough primary processes.

The Pointek CLS 100 is available in three versions. The integral cable version has a stainless-steel process connection and probe options of PPS or PVDF. The fully synthetic version has a thermoplastic polyester enclosure with a PPS process connection combined with a PPS probe. The standard enclosure version has a thermoplastic polyester enclosure with a stainless-steel process connection in combination with a PPS or PVDF probe.

Switch-Tek LP15 Capacitance Level Switch

The Switch Tek LP15 from Flowline is a capacitance level switch which has a unique RF guard circuit. This guard circuit eliminates the coating signal path between the active and reference electrodes. The level switch is broadly suited for water based conductive liquids with light coating or scaling characteristics. The submersible sensor is universally mounted through the wall or inside the tank.

Smart Trak AV23 Buoyancy Level Switch with CLC

The Flowline Smart Trak AV23 Float Level Switch System with Compact Level Controller. This is a general-purpose level switch package and provides an all-round solution for automatic filling or emptying of a tank between two adjustable level switch points. The Smart Trak AV23 comes with a 10A latching compact relay controller for pump or valve actuation. This Polypropylene level switch package is selected for day tank, skid or machine, cooling tower, waste sump and process tank applications, requiring detection and control.

SITRANS LPS200 Electromechanical Level Switch

SITRANS LPS200 from technology giant Siemens, is a rotary paddle switch for level detection in bulk solids. The paddle switch technology of the SITRANS LPS200 detects full, empty or demand conditions on materials such as grain, feed, cement, plastic granulate and wood chips. The paddle switch can handle bulk densities as low as 35 g/l with the optional hinged vane or 100 g/l with the standard measuring vane. A low revolution geared motor with slip clutch drives a rotating measuring vane which senses the presence of material at the mounted level of the LPS200. As material comes into contact with the rotating paddle, rotation stops, which changes the microswitch state. When the paddle is no longer covered by material, rotation resumes, and the relay reverts to its normal condition.

The LPS200 has a rugged design for use in harsh conditions in the solids industry. The sensitivity of the paddle can be adjusted for varying material properties like build-up on the vane. The LPS200 comes in a variety of configurations including compact, extended and cable extension. It is equipped with a standard vane which is effective in most applications but can be configured with a hinged vane for increased sensitivity for light materials.

2250 Hydrostatic Level Sensor

The Signet 2250 Hydrostatic Level Sensor for level and depth control has a one-piece injection moulded PVDF body and ceramic diaphragm for superior compatibility in corrosive liquids. Utilising hydrostatic pressure, the Signet 2250 disregards false level signals from steam vapours, foam, or any other debris on the liquid surface. Two pressure ranges allow for optimal resolution matched to your sensing needs. Solid state circuitry eliminates drift (no internal potentiometers).

These sensors are available with a proprietary digital (S3L) output, or 4 to 20 mA output. The extended cable and capillary tubing with the union connection and a customer supplied conduit, allow submersion in process vessels.

EchoSwitch LU74-78 Ultrasonic Level Switch

EchoSwitch LU74-78 Ultrasonic Level Switch Flowline, is a general-purpose ultrasonic level sensor. This level switch provides continuous level detection up to 26.2’ (8m), has 3 programmable relays for level switch or level control functions, and a 4-20mA signal output.

The Flowline EchoSwitch features digital push button configuration, eliminating target calibration. Each relay can be configured on a single set point to control pumps, valves, or alarms. In addition, all 3 relays can be simplexed, duplexed or triplexed.

EchoSwitch II now features an integrated timer with pump/valve delay and timed pump alternation. The switch is well suited for a broad range of corrosive, waste and slurry type media and is broadly selected for atmospheric day tanks, pump lift stations and waste sump applications.

Features of the EchoSwitch LU74-78 Ultrasonic Level Switch include:

  • Simple digital push configuration, no more target calibration
  • Available in 2.5m or 7.5m range
  • 10cm miniature dead band optimises the filling capacity of sumps or vessels.

9950 Dual Channel Transmitter

The 9950 Dual Channel Transmitter is a two-channel controller that supports two sensors of same or different types in one instrument.

The sensor types supported by the 9950 are Signet Flow, pH/ORP, Conductivity/Resistivity, Salinity, Temperature, Pressure, Level, Dissolved Oxygen, and devices that transmit a 4 to 20 mA signal with the use of the 8058 iGo® Signal Converter.

The 9950 includes advanced features such as derived functions, advanced multiple relay modes, and timer-based relay functions. Derived functions allows for the control of a relay or current loop with the sum, delta (difference), or ratio of two measurements, for example delta pressure and delta temperature. Multiple relay modes allow up to three signals to be used for the control of a single relay. This can be any combination of analogue and binary inputs. The timer relay modes allow a relay to be activated on a repeating basis from every minute to once every 30 days. Weekday timer mode allows a relay to be energised on a specific day or days of the week at a specific time.

The 3-9950.393-3 Relay Module includes the ability to interface up to four binary inputs. The binary inputs are compatible with either open collector or mechanical contacts. The binary inputs can supply power to the four inputs or accepts powered outputs from external devices. These inputs can be used with level switches, flow switches, pressure switches or other devices. The inputs can be used to directly control the relays of the 9950 or can be used in combination with the measurement readings for advanced control of your process.

2450 Pressure Transmitter

The 2450 Pressure Transmitter has a one-piece injection moulded PVDF body and ceramic diaphragm for superior compatibility in corrosive liquids. Three pressure range versions allow for optimal resolution matched to sensing needs. Solid state circuitry eliminates drift (no internal potentiometers). Built-in temperature compensation provides outstanding accuracy over wide temperature ranges.

These sensors are available with a proprietary digital output (S3L), or field-scalable 4 to 20 mA output. Dual-threaded ends allow submersion in process vessels, or in-line installation with conduit connection. Integral adapters (sold separately) may be used to create a compact assembly with a field mount version of the Signet 8250 Level or 8450 pressure transmitters.

GF Signet 9900 1BC

The Signet 9900-1BC Batch Controller system provides control capability and process fine-tuning in a familiar package. The programming interface uses a four-button keypad and an intuitive menu for adjusting a batching system to the best performance possible. Choose between simple or advanced modes. In simple mode, relay outputs can be used for batching, external counter, missing signal alarm and 4 to 20 mA output can be used to indicate batch status. In advanced mode relays can also be used for end of batch pulse, two-stage shutdown, overrun alarm, high flow detection, total volume, or source volume alarm. New to Generation IV, Automatic Overrun Compensation feature. The 9900-1BC can measure excess flow after a batch stops and use it to reduce flow to the next batch by de-energising the batch relay early, thus closing the flow control valve, and eliminating batch overrun.

Designed for a variety of batch applications, the 9900-1BC can save up to 10 batch sizes for batching or blending a variety of liquid volumes. Customise batch names for easy distinction between batches. One K-Factor can be used for all batches or use a different K-Factor for each batch for when different liquids are batched. User can choose to be prompted prior to starting a batch with a Yes | No or with a password to prevent inadvertently starting a batch.

Digital Pressure Transmitter Sitrans P, DS III Series

Various versions of the SITRANS P are available for pressure, absolute pressure, diff. pressure, flow, and level.

The transmitters can be equipped with various designs of remote seals for special applications such as the measurement of highly viscous substances. They can also be programmed locally using three input keys or externally via HART. The table in the product datasheet describes the fundamental parameters.

The SITRANS P pressure transmitter is immediately ready for operation following installation. The adjustable span corresponds to the data on the rating plate. If a customer-specific setting is made in the factory, the start-of-scale and full-scale values are printed on the rating plate. If necessary, the parameters can also be changed during commissioning using simple input operations on the transmitter.

IC-IMP Industrial Pressure Transmitter

The IC-IMP industrial pressure transmitter has a piezo‐resisitive ceramic pressure sensor giving it excellent media compatibility. The housing is made from stainless steel with a choice of internal O ring seals to select to ensure the product is suitable for a wide range of applications. Every device is temperature compensated and calibrated and supplied with a traceable serial number and calibration certificate. The electronics incorporate a microprocessor based amplifier, this means there are no adjusting pots and therefore the electronics are very stable, especially in high vibration / shock applications.

IC-IMP-LR Low Range Pressure | Level Transmitter

The IC-IMP-LR low range level / pressure transmitter has a piezo-resistive silicon pressure sensor which is an oil filled isolated diaphragm. The sensor and housing are made from stainless steel with a choice of internal O ring seals to ensure the product is suitable for a wide range of applications. Every device is temperature compensated and calibrated and supplied with a traceable serial number and calibration certificate. The electronics incorporates a microprocessor based amplifier, this means there are no adjusting pots and therefore the electronics are very stable, especially in high vibration / shock applications.

PodView LI40 Level Indicator

Podview LI40 Level Indicator is a general-purpose indicator displaying levels or volumes in tanks with 1-4 relay status indicators. This Flowline indicator is compatible with any EchoPod level sensor configured with WebCal 6 software and updated to V50 firmware or higher. Powered by the EchoPod, the field mount indicator may be located up to 4.5m (15′) from the sensor. PodView requires no programming. The indicator repeats the measured value, applicable relay status and set point configuration of the attached sensor. EchoPod relay set point changes can be easily made through the field indicator.

DataView LI55 Level Controller

The DataView LI55 Level Controller is a general-purpose level meter displaying engineering units with one 4-20 mA or 0-10 VDC transmitter input channel and is offered in three configurations with optional 2 or 4 relays, 4 or 8 set points and an isolated 4-20 mA repeater. Each relay can be configured on a single set point or latched on two set points for automatic fill or empty control including duplexing. For field mount installations, order the single or two-meter NEMA box.

The DIN panel mount batch controller N-Series from Fluidwell distinguishes itself by its user-friendly features: Numerical keypad, clear programming menu structure, easy to read display and simple mounting enclosure. The numerical keypad allows simple and fast changing of the pre-set batch quantity. Fluidwell stands for simplicity and reliability, and it is now available in this customer focused and application driven batch controller.

FlowCon 200i External Display

The FlowCon 200i is an external display and programming unit for use in combination with Flowmax ultrasonic flowmeters. FlowCon can be permanently installed as a separate display for Flowmax or alternatively as a mobile unit for commissioning.

If the installed Flowmax is difficult to reach or there is not a display, the configured Flowmax outputs retain their full functionality by using FlowCon. The output signals, e.g. analogue, pulse or alarm output, are available for further processing by external systems such as PLCs, recorders, or external counting units.

All the functions available in Flowmax as scale value for the analogue output, pulse value, internal counter reset, etc. can be changed via the keypad in Flowmax. By using the supplied plug power supply and the Y/T-plug the device combination FlowCon / Flowmax can be operated independently from the power supply of the plant.

I have had a number of quotations from Icenta, and have been impressed with the level of service and technical assistance that accompanied my enquires. Unfortunately I was unable to pursue the quotes due to a change in approach to the equipment in question. I therefore cannot comment on how orders are honoured, or processed.
