Architectural Glazing Design

We currently boast the largest glazing design department in the UK. Our in house team of CAD designers and engineers contains twelve expert designers and is fully supported by a structural engineer for specialist structural glass calculations.

Full Project Management

The robust project management systems employed by IQ Projects are fully tried and tested and based on our many years of experience in the field of commercial, architectural and structural glazing. The resulting project management structures we use result in trouble free project delivery from start to finish.

Glass Installation

The IQ installation teams are fully and highly trained, both as individuals and as a team. Throughout the duration of the on-site project, our teams of highly professional glaziers are in full communication with your contracts manager to ensure an intricate and effective glass installation.

Glazing CPD Seminars

Our architectural glazing CPD courses are highly popular with architects all over the UK, offering them a highly technical and easy to digest insight into the use of specialist glass in their designs. Our selection of architectural glazing CPD’s cover all aspects of specialist glazing and technical glass systems and focus particularly on the tangible and real-life issues encountered by specifiers.

Glass Specification Advice

There is never just one suitable solution for an architectural glazing design. At IQ we are able to look at your drawings and help to narrow down what would be the best way to create the design you propose. Would a framed or frameless solution be best? Do you really need to use triple glazing? Should you consider a solar control coating? These are the types of questions we can answer to help create your bespoke glazing design.

Technical pre-tender meetings

Our large architectural showroom in Amersham is a go-to location for architects and specifiers who require assistance and guidance for their glazing specification. Here our glass technicians will be able to run through your project requirements and show you the elements in real size. You can investigate material choices, detailing and performance requirements all within a beautiful Chiltern location.

Aluminium Fabrication

We fabricate a range of aluminium systems enabling us to offer an aluminium window or aluminium door solution for all project designs and budgets. Our offering includes the highly engineered Schueco systems as well as our own range of aluminium windows and doors; Sieger Architektursystems.

Glass Processing

The experienced team of glass technicians use their years of expertise to create all of our bespoke glazing units, tailored and designed for each individual purpose. Whether your entrance space includes glass revolving doors, automatic sliding doors or any other number of other controlled entrance systems, IQ can help to create a glass entrance way that not only achieves your design criteria but the demanding levels of performance required from an entrance space.

Floors & Bridges

Structural glass floor systems can be extremely useful in buildings or structures with limited window space or access to natural light.
As a member of structural glazing, a walk on glass floor will be designed as a bespoke glazing item by the team at IQ.
Our experience in the creation of walk on glass structures includes glass floors, glass bridges and glass balconies.

Commercial Roof Glazing

Structurally glazed roofs can be supported in many ways to ensure your design intent is kept intact. These structural supporting methods can include designs such as glass beams, ornate steel sections or timber depending on the design brief.
If you require an opening element to your frameless glass roof IQ has a range of opening solutions that can be fitted into our structural glass roof designs for either venting, access or bringing the outside in. Sliding rooflights are also an alternative method to allow ventilation into the building while maintaining a minimal frame appearance.

Commercial Fire Rated Glazing

The design and specification of fire-rated glazing assemblies is a complicated and technical process but one that IQ has many years of experience in. The entire assembly must be treated as one. That means that all the fire-rated glazing, fire rated fixings and any associated frameworks will have to be considered as one entity to ensure that we create a completely secure fire rated installation.

Structural Glass

Glass balustrades from IQ Projects are manufactured using specially designed ionoplast interlayers for high levels of core strength. In the instance of glass breakage, the ionoplast interlayer holds the glass together and keeps the glass upright; this stops glass from falling into the spaces below if breakage was to occur.

Technical Glazing

We offer a whole catalogue of technical glass solutions to increase the performance of your glazing or address a specific design issue.
Highly technical glass solutions like Heated Glass, Electro Chromic Glass and Privacy Glass can allow you to change the internal environment or the appearance of the glazing at the simple push of a button.
Electro Chromic Glass can be useful in automatically reducing solar gain and can be a great tool in reducing the HVAC power requirements of a building.
