HELICAL -V Coil Wire Inserts - Taps - Gauges

Helical insert is made of coiled wire. Another common name is screw thread insert (STI), many users call them all by the brand name and trademark Heli-coil. The insert is inserted into a tapped hole larger than the required finished size of thread.

Used for repairing damaged threads or to give weaker materials greater threaded strength. Our stock coils are manufactured from 304 Stainless Steel Insert withstand temperatures ranging from -160C to +420C with standing surges up to 500C.

PLAIN PLUG GAUGES Go / No-Go

Plain plug gauges manufactured to order (normally 5 / 7 days) to the relevant sizes required are used for checking the size of a machined hole. They are used as an acceptance gauge with a go (pass) nogo (failed oversize) end.
A plain plug gauge does not return a size, but instead returns a state. The state is either acceptable (the part is within tolerance) or it is unacceptable (and would be rejected).

SLIP GAUGES & SETS

Individual gauge block is a metal block that has been precision ground / lapped to size. Gauge blocks come in sets of blocks with a range of lengths up to 1000mm in metric sizes . In use, the blocks are stacked to make the required length

VERNIER CALIPERS

Vernier, dial, and digital calipers give a direct reading of the distance measured with high accuracy. They are functionally identical, with different ways of reading the result. The calipers have a calibrated scale with a fixed jaw, and another moving jaw, that slides along the scale. The distance between the jaws is then read in different ways for the three types

COVENTRY DIEHEADS & CHASER SETS

Coventry Dieheads for use on Turret lathes, CNC and automatic screw machines. The system is noted for its ease of use, and for the accuracy of cut over a wide range of thread types. Automatic self-opening at the completion of each cut makes Coventry ideal for batch or production work.

Coventry chasers are designed so that cutting takes place at the first full tooth. The remaining teeth are above center height, so they act as a nut, ensuring accurate pitch.

AXIAL THREAD ROLLING

Thread rolling forms external threads. Threads are formed into a blank by pressing a shaped die against the work piece.. Normally used for large production runs because typical piece rates are around one piece per second. Rolling produce no swarf hence less material is required The diameter starts smaller than required for actually cutting the threads Around 15 to 20% material savings can be achieved

Taps & Dies
