Gearbox Repair & Servicing
We provide an in-house repair service where we can inspect, assess, quote, repair and test most medium sized marine gearbox types including units we sell such as PRM, ZF Borg Warner and Hurth. An express service is available for commercial users. We can arrange shipping with our couriers so to ensure fast turnaround, including remote locations.
We have highly experienced technicians who operate in a fully equipped facility who can efficiently carry out repairs, fabrication and testing at our Portslade workshops. We catering for domestic and international, commercial & leisure, clients.
We can diagnose if your gearbox is at fault and provide emergency gearbox support.

Engine Rebuild & Restoration
We have one of the largest stocks of base engine parts for the Ford 2700 Dorset 2720 Dover engine series, Transit 2.5DI FSD and Escort XLD engines. We can provide used, rebuilt and recondition blocks and heads as required.
We hold stock of rebuilt Dorset and Dover engines. Therefore we are often are able to exchange marinising parts from a customer’s donor engine to deliver a tested replacement engine promptly.
All supplied engines are run-up and tested at full power on our dynomometer and all operating functions checked.

Fresh & Raw Water Pump Servicing
To compliment our wide range of Jabsco pumps and parts we offer a repair service which includes shaft replacement, bearing replacement. In addition we can service pumps and replace wear plates, cams and change impellers.
New freshwater engine pumps also available for Ford, Perkins, New Holland and BMC, other engines by request. We can also fully refurbish other pumps.

Alternator & Starter Refurbishment
These units are commonly replaced as often they are beyond economic repair. However for units where it is cost effective to repair we offer a rebuild service such as for the high torque coaxial CA45 starter motor. Our rebuild service will include alternator and starter bearings replacement where possible and needed. Inaddition other serviceable items can be repaired or replaced this includes solenoids, rotors, brushes and pinions.
We also modify existing alternators for enable connection of Sterling regulators to improve charging rates and efficiency.
We can also supply modified alternators for low speed operation. This modification is particilarly suitable for propeller shaft generators on sailing boats.

Constant Velocity Joints Refurbishment
CV shafts are reliable but can easily be damaged when thrust bearings lose lubrication from misalignment of the thrust bearing or recommended torque or shaft speed is exceeded. Part are available for most units and we also specialise in servicing of python-drive systems.
