Process Instrumentation

Lee-Dickens is involved in the design and manufacture of a comprehensive range of Electronic Process Control and Monitoring Instrumentation. Our products are aimed at satisfying the front end requirements of the instrumentation engineer with plant interface equipment, sensors, signal conditioning equipment, power monitoring devices and digital process indicators. Lee-Dickens also has the capability to design, prototype and manufacture bespoke equipment to customer requirements and specifications

Trip Amplifiers

Trip Amplifiers change output state when the process signal which is being monitored passes one or more adjustable set points, for high or low alarm conditions.

Power Monitoring Instrumentation

We manufacture a range of power monitoring units, including VAR transducers, watt transducers, combined Watt / VAR transducers, mains frequency to current / voltage converters, power factor transducers, AC current and voltage transducers.

Digital Process Indicators

A range of programmable, flexible and easy to use process indicators is available, for monitoring conditions of a wide range of inputs. Outputs can be analogue, RS232 or BCD signal output, as well as LED indicators as standard. Alarms, analogue and serial outputs are available as optional extras.

CCTV

Lee-Dickens are able to supply and install professional CCTV systems and where appropriate, integrate the CCTV into our Sitewatch Monitoring systems, offering single-click links from telemetry pages to live video.

We have years' of experience in installing CCTV in remote locations with video being accessed using 4G cellular data.

CCTV can work alongside telemetry / monitoring to provide:

Sensors

We manufacture a wide range of highly accurate sensors for measuring relative humidity, process temperature and level using capacitance and conductivity technology. We also have a range of ATEX approved Intrinsically Safe RH probes and ATEX approved intrinsically safe capacitance level probes.

Relative Humidity & Temperature

Lee-Dickens manufacture a range of Wall and Duct Mounting Relative Humidity and Temperature probes and transmitters suitable for industrial and environmental applications with two of the probes ATEX approved. We also supply Calibration Capsules that can be used in the field for a quick check. Full calibration is available on return of the units to our factory.

Our range of Remote terminal Units (RTUs) and Process Instruments allow monitoring of all sizes of pump station. From our smallest low powered Micro RTU monitoring a remote level in a drainage ditch or channel, through to large pumping stations where our Midi-10 RTU can provide PLC style Ladder logic pump control and tariff management.

All data is reported regularly to our Sitewatch Anywhere cloud servers using broadband or wireless communications.

Military Equipment

Lee-Dickens has been supplying industrial process control and monitoring instrumentation since 1964. In the early 1970s we supplied our first systems and equipment to military specification.

Remote Control & Monitoring Systems

For the past 30 years, our Sitewatch Remote Control and Monitoring Systems (RCMS) have been trusted by Industries and Airports around the world.

Airport Monitoring

Sitewatch is a fully fledged and widely used RCMS for International and Military, Airport and Air-Traffic, monitoring and control applications. Sitewatch is used by the UK MoD for monitoring and controlling numerous RAF and Navy Airfields and Radar installations.
Our most recent project is a major system delivering Sitewatch to Dubai’s two international airports to monitor all their CNS, ATM and MET equipment, and to provide runway CAT monitoring. We also supply fully integrated Maintenance Management Systems.

As standard, Sitewatch includes an SNMP Manager allowing it to monitor and control any 3rd party SNMP equipment, supporting SNMP V1, V2c and V3. Sitewatch also includes several OEM communication protocols allowing direct interface to many of the main established CNS, ATM and MET equipments. Older equipment interfaces use Closed Contact relay interfaces − for these we have a good range of ‘Remote Terminal Units’ that can report back to our servers over copper or fibre links (RS232, RS485, Ethernet, TCP/IP etc.).

Sitewatch supports multiple redundant servers, and can support the full system on just one server. As well as monitoring all the CNS, ATM and MET equipment, we typically also monitor all RCMS communications and UPS status etc. The system accommodates as many workstations as are necessary, and depending on networking (LAN or WAN) can also allow access from tablets and smart phones etc. via web browsers (no software install needed).

Airports can use the Sitewatch RCMS combined with our Sitewatch Crash Alarm system for a fully integrated system.

RTUs

RTUs are intelligent microprocessor based Remote Terminal Units, which can be used to monitor and control most types of remote equipment.

The Air Traffic industry RTUs are used to monitor and control CNS, ATM and MET equipment in air field shelters and monitoring at more distant locations such as Radar Stations and remote Beacon and Radio sites.

We offer a wide range of intelligent RTU and Field Interface Units that satisfy the most challenging of RCMS applications, and supporting all necessary communication modes to ensure reliable communications back to the Sitewatch RCMS Servers.

Our RTUs are available in wall mounting and 19" Rack Mounting variants to suit all circumstances.

Crash Alarm Systems

Lee-Dickens Crash Alarm systems deployed in Civil and Military airfields around the world ensure safety and security for runways, and provide instant on-demand communications between Tower and Fire station.

Our modular system includes options for Touchscreen and Push-button consoles, providing one-touch control and real-time monitoring. Automated Alarm responses include activating Bay Doors, Sirens, Strobes, Tannoy messages, and CCTV operation.

Because this is a fully redundant and modular system, it supports any number of Control Towers and Fire Stations.

With Emergency-phones and auto-dial available, first responders can be contacted without delay. All Alarms and actions are recorded in the permanent log.

The system is ideally suited to be coupled to the Sitewatch Remote Control and Monitoring Systems allowing a fully integrated Crash Alarm and monitoring system.

Maintenance Management Systems

From simple Preventive Maintenance Planners, to more comprehensive Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) that are integrated into Sitewatch, we are able to provide solutions on any level.

Computerised Maintenance Management Systems

When integrated with our Sitewatch monitoring solutions, the CMMS can be used to ensure that all equipment faults automatically result in Job Cards or Work Orders that allow maintainers to work at maximum efficiency.

The CMMS also provides tracking and reporting tools allowing reporting of key indicators such as Downtime, Availability, MTTR and MTBF.

The CMMS integrated with our Sitewatch Remote Control and Monitoring Systems is used at international airports to manage the maintenance of all CNS/ATM equipments, minimise downtime, reduce maintenance costs, and produce statuatory reports.

Preventive Maintenance Planner

For customers that do not require a full CMMS package, our Preventive Maintenance Planner (PMP) allows the maintenance of key equipment to be scheduled and tracked.

Sitewatch already provides monitoring tools that allow equipment faults and failures to be automatically detected, which leads to Corrective Maintenance tasks being carried out. The new PMP allows Preventive Maintenance tasks to be organised, either based on a regular time based schedule, or on Run-Time and use rate.

The planner is ideal for customers that are already monitoring pumps, motors, compressors and plant, and want to improve reliability and efficiency by planning Preventive Maintenance tasks more effectively.

Services Availability Management

For any system, the Sitewatch SAMS service records the time of any system degrade or outage, the speed of response of the maintainers, and the overall downtime.

Ultimately this allows reporting on KPI values such as:

MTBO
System Availability.
