Motorola T62 446 Twin Pack

The Motorola TLKR T62 licence free twin pack is ideal for more regular use. Supplied in twin packs with rechargeable batteries and a USB charging cable. These radios have programmable privacy tones and are great for keeping contact at festival’s, camping sites, on the beach and around your home. Coverage of up to 5KM, depending on terrain and conditions. Maximum distance achieved when there are no obstruction’s such as hills, trees, buildings etc between the two radios.

Motorola T82 Extreme Twin Pack

These TLKR-T82's are perfect for those trips where you may get rained on or splashed as it is IPX2 rated. It has a built in LED torch for those dark nights and an easy pairing button.Supplied in twin packs with rechargeable batteries, charger, belt clips, boom mic earpieces and user manual. These are the same as the T82 but come in a carry case with earpieces.

Motorola T82 2 way radio twin Pack

The T82 twin pack has the same rating as the T82 Extreme, but comes without the carry lanyards, boom microphones, carry case and personalisation stickers. Same rugged construction with a built in torch for emergencies or map reading in the dark. This is a twin pack, so you will get two radios, two belt clips, two rechargeable batteries, USB charger and user manual.

Motorola Talkabout T42 Twin Pack

The Motorola T42 is an entry level consumer walkie talkie two-way radio. These are supplied in red or blue depending on your preference. Ideal for occasional use such as when you go camping, fishing, hiking or similar leisure activities. These radios do not have privacy tones and require alkaline cells, so they don’t come with a charger.

Motorola XT420 446 handset

The Motorola XT420 is the replacement for the Motorola XTNiD walkie talkie. This is a licence free PMR 446 two way radio of high quality. Ideal where instant short range communication is required such as a building site or perhaps road works. The XT420 is recommended for use by schools, colleges, leisure centre's, gym's and anywhere you would require on-site communications without the expense of a user licence.

Senhaix 8120 Waterproof Radio

I have had a look at these two-way radios. Really nice feel and great quality for the price. Nice build of the internal workings, quality PC board and components.
These would be ideal for all radio users who wish to stay with standard analogue products and where UHF is the preferred frequency band. You will need an Ofcom licence, either the UK general or your own frequency. Looking to add to your fleet or replace older radios, you may want to consider the Senhaix 8120. This is ideal for day to day communications where no frills are required. I can program these for you but will need to have site of a valid UHF radio users’ licence. These are not legal to use on 446 licence free frequencies.

Consumer 446 repair

If you have a faulty consumer 446 licence free radio, Mike Ashby Comms repairs most makes and models of these handsets. The images give a few examples of these radios which are usually supplied in pairs. They may or may not have rechargeable batteries and a charger, others will require disposable batteries. Please send in both radios, the price is for repairing both or one radio and aligning both.

Digital radio repair

Digital radios will only have 1st line repairs carried out. That is replacement of faulty controls, speakers, microphones and parts that are supplied by the manufacturer Mike Ashby Comms repairs most makes and models of these handsets. Please call or email for housing replacement prices. Radios can be returned to manufacturer for repairs that fall out of the scope suggested by manufacturer.

Kirisun DP405 battery contact replacement

The Kirisun DP405 is a great walkie talkie for it's price.
The battery contacts tend to break or bend when a rough attempt to fit the battery incorrectly is performed. Perhaps the contacts are also damaged when the radio is transported with other loose radios and no battery is fitted.

Licensed walkie talkie repair

If you have a faulty PMR licensed radio, Mike Ashby Comms repairs most makes and models of these handsets. The images give a few examples of these radios which are usually supplied in single units, with a rechargeable battery and charger. Six way bank chargers are often supplied if you have a number of these radios.

Motorola XT420 missing rubber button

If your XT420 is missing the rubber push-to-talk button it will need a new case fitted. The PTT rubber is an integral part of the housing and cannot be replaced as an item. Often the internal PTT switch is also damaged, this is caused by the user usining a sharp object to try and put the radio into talk mode. This service includes checking and replacement of the internal switch if it is damaged.

Mike Ashby Comms is owned by Michael Ashby t/a Mike Ashby Comms. I am a sole trader with over thirty-eight years of experience in the repair of two-way radios. I offer a fixed price, postal repair service, for walkie talkie two-way radios, including repairs to licence free radios, both of the consumer and PMR types. This includes repairs to many makes and models including Motorola, kenwood, Vertex, Opus, Kirisun, Cobra, Hytera and Icom, to name a few.

All repairs are carried in the fully equipped workshop using genuine parts from the large stock carried. Servicing of working radios is carried out from £10.50 per unit, enquire for a firm quotation. Customers come from many sectors including schools, businesses, farmers, shopping centres, security companies, individuals and hospitals. This service covers the UK and many EU countries, faulty equipment can be posted or sent via a courier service to the address on the “Repair Form”. This is available to download as a PDF from the website. A no fix, no fee policy is followed and I do not charge to inspect equipment. Mike Ashby Comms also offers a repair service for six-way bank chargers, including repairs to the external and internal switch mode power supplies with prices starting from £35.00. Earpieces are available to purchase online among some other bits and bobs.
