EA DEMOPACK-RGBANA Demo application for driving a RGB LED and measuring a voltage via an analogue input. The input voltage can be adjusted with the onboard trimmer resistor.

The display included in this application example is the EA uniTFTs028-ATC (2.8") Smart IPS TFT with PCAP touch-screen, powerful graphics functions, memory, I/O and popular interface. EA DEMOPACK-CLIMA demo application for EA uniTFTs028-ATC display with application PCB for CO2 measurement, temperature measurement and humidity measurement via I²C.

The Si7020-A20 sensor is used for the temperature and humidity measurement and the CSS811B-JOPD500 gas sensor for CO2 measurement.

This applications shows communication between the EA uniTFTs028 smart display, the sensors and the Real-Time-Clock (RTC) the I²C.

The Real-Time-Clock is battery buffered. Demoboard has a reset switch and test points for GND and VDD.

The display included with the EA DEMOPACK is the EA uniTFTs028-ATC 2.8" IPS TFT smart display with PCAP touch-screen and powerful graphics functions and memory. The series of uniTFT(s) displays can be programmed as stand-alone HMI controller with inputs and outputs. Display interface is USB (5V), serial, I²C and SPI (3.3V). A level converter is required for RS-232 (+/-12V). For examples using a level converter for RS-232 and RS-485 communication check out the EA DEMOPACK-CONNI.

EA DEMOPACK-WIFIBT

EA DEMOPACK-WiFiBT shows how to use the EA uniTFTs028-ATC smart display with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth communication added.

The DEMOPACK-WiFiBT board includes the ESP32 processor to add Wi-Fi and Bluetooth communication to the display. The ESP32 communicates with the EA uniTFTs028-ATC smart display via the RS232 interface. Additionally the display SBUF-output is connected to the ESP32 IO32. The SBUF-output pin indicates that data is ready in the display send buffer. The EA uniTFTs028-ATC IO0.0 is connected the the ESP32 IO33 to interrupt direct Bluetooth connection. More IO onboard the smart display and the ESP32 are available for use. The project for the ESP32-WROOM-32 is fully documented and shows how to connect a Bluetooth keyboard to the display and another example using Wi-Fi shows how to retrieve weather information from https://openweathermap.org and display the weather forecast on the smart display. The familiar Arduino IDE is used to program the ESP32 processor.

The EA uniTFTs028-ATC 2.8" IPS TFT smart display with PCAP touch-screen is included with this EA DEMOPACK-WiFiBT. The EA uniTFT(s) displays can be programmed as a stand-alone HMI controller with low voltage inputs and outputs. Onboard the displays is a USB port, serial, I²C and SPI (3.3V) interface. This DEMOPACK-WiFiBT has an onboard voltage regulator for supply voltages from 5 to 28V DC.

Easily control and create HMI screens with the Windows uniTFTDesigner software and adapt the many examples provided. The uniTFTDesigner software includes a display simulator, this speeds up development time as picture position and functions can be checked on your desktop without the need to download the project into the display.

MMS Electronics has available a new series of COG (Chip-On-Glass) OLED displays (Organic Light Emitting Diodes) designed by Display Visions. OLEDs are self emitting displays that do not require a backlight and are thinner and brighter then LCDs. OLED displays have very sharp contrast 1:1000 on a true Black background with near 180° viewing angle. The OLED displays are available as standard in Yellow or White. For Blue, Green or Red colours an MOQ applies. The Yellow OLED displays achieve a life time of 80,000 to 100,000 hours depending on the ambient temperature. These OLED displays open the door to new applications including those with low or high operating temperature of -40°C to +80°C.

The displays are easily programmed with powerful graphic commands and integrated character set. New fonts are imported with the free LCD-Tools development software. EA DOG monochrome Chip-On-Glass Displays (COG) are low cost, low current and highly reliable displays that are designed by Display Visions. With the COG displays the driver is mounted directly on the glass resulting in a thin display with very reliable connections sealed from the environment. For easy mounting pins are fixed to the edge of the glass with conductive glue offering a very stable connection to solder directly into the PCB or a 2.54mm pitch connector. The EA DOG series displays and backlights are specially developed for +3.3V supply voltage. (Note: Supply voltage for the Alphanumeric DOGM081/162/163 displays is +3.3V and +5V). Unlike other displays, this series allows you to select the display technology and the LED backlight colour. Simply clip the display glass and the LED backlight together and create many colour combinations from standard parts. Or create a designer special for you products from an MOQ of one. The glass technology is available in STN yellow/green, STN reflective, STN negative blue, FSTN blue, FSTN positive and FSTN negative with a choice of different backlights in Green, Red, Amber, Blue, White and dual Green/Red, triple Green/Red/White or full colour RGB backlights.

EA IPS TFT Displays

1.5" EA TFT015-22AITC IPS colour display with 240x240x3 dots and 4 different interfaces. The active area of the IPS colour display measures 28 mm square with a resolution of 240x240 pixels and 16 bit colour resolution. External module size is 44x46x5.3 mm with VA 28.5x28.5 mm. The high brightness of 1,000 cd/m² ensures high-contrast display even under extreme light conditions, such as bright sunlight or bright indoor lights. Unlike other LCD screens, the contrast of this IPS panel remains nearly the same at every angle, even at very oblique viewing angles. And as this IPS display also uses AACS technology (All-Angle-Colour-Stability) so does the colour.
EA TFT015-22AITC is 16 bit RGB and has an 8 and 16 bit parallel interface and an SPI interface to the onboard controller ST7789V. The PCAP touch-screen interface is I2C. The supply voltage is 3.3 V and low current consumption of typically 20 to 80 mA making this display ideal for use in battery-operated handheld devices. Wide temperature range from -20 to 70 °C.

This display has long-term availability, safe for use in new designs. Only one FPC cable is used for all signals, FPC pitch is 0.3mm. This display is also available without the touch panel EA TFT015-22AI.
EA RaPiPico Shield

EA RaPiPico Shield

A display shield EA RaPicoTFT009 for the Raspberry Pi Pico (RP2040) with the EA TFT009-81AINN IPS TFT display fitted on the PCB shield. Display resolution is 80x160 pixels. The In-Plane-Switching (IPS) technology widens the viewing angle and the All Angle Colour Stability (AACS) provides unchanged colour and contrasts even with changing viewing angles. The display can be used without loss in quality in portrait (80x160) or landscape mode (160x80). This EA TFT009-81AINN display has long-term availability and is ideal for use in new designs. Integrated with a bright white LED backlight producing 500 cd/m2.

The EA RaPico009 is supplied with the C library software, numerous functions and detailed documentation to display graphics and text. Designed as a “Shield”, the PCB plugs directly onto the Raspberry Pi Pico.

The energy-efficient screen (max. 80 mW) is perfectly suited to various IOT applications. The Raspberry Pico is using one of the two SPI interfaces and one of the 26 GPIO pins (GP13). The touchscreen version (RaPicoTFT009TC) also uses the I²C bus interface and another GPIO pin as an interrupt input (GP8) to read the PCAP touch.
