A-Boards
What is an A-Board?
The term A-Board refers to the shape of the sign, when viewed from the side you can see 2 boards joined at the top and with a strut between which forms the shape of a capital A. Most have a collapsible strut to allow for compact, flat storage.
Can I use A-Boards outside?
Some A-boards are more suitable than others for outdoors use but in general the answer is yes. The two main factors to consider are wind and rain, or how weatherproof do you need your A-board to be? If you plan to position your A-board in a sheltered area then you can opt for the cheaper and lighter A-Master boards or even the Budget A-Board. However those lighter A-boards will be less stable in stronger winds so we recommend our heavier Booster A-Board range where for example the smaller 20"x30" boards weigh in at 16kg and the larger A1 size weighs a sturdy 23kg. Most of our A-Boards have a water-resistant cover to protect your display from the rain. Although not waterproof enough to recommend them for use underwater they'll cope with even quite severe UK weather conditions.
If you want greater confidence against strong gusts of wind we would recommend considering one of our other pavement sign options such as a swinger sign.

It is condensation or humidity that spoils standard interior paper posters printed with water based inks used in exterior signs - few exterior signs are completly water proof only water resistant.
We do not recommend the use of standard paper interior posters printed with water based inks in metal exterior frames and a Boards for long display intervals.
This type of paper is prone to absorbing moisture.

Pavement signs are a form of advertising sign, they can be classed as a pavement sign if normally positioned outside of store fronts or high street shops. A pavement sign will usually have two faces of equal size, both sides being suitable to display leaflets, posters etc.
Some pavement signs have snap shut frames allowing the advertising media to be changed quickly. There are some pavement signs on the market that feature a locking mechanism to secure the media or artwork against vandalism and theft. There are many uses for an pavement signs, although the main benefits always remains the same; to increase sales, walk in traffic, increase product awareness or deliver information. Efficient storage of high quality graphics is achievable on those that feature a protective screen.

Snap Frames can be supplied with stronger springs and a flush edge will make the frame impossible to open without a lever tool, or frames can be supplied with bolts requiring an Allen Key to open. However for greater peace of mind the four frame edges can interconnect and lock together until a key is used.
