Personal Infrared Transmitters

Personal Infrared Transmitters

Personal Infrared Transmitters (PITs) act as personal safety alarms. Designed to be worn at all times, and once activated, PITs instantaneously emit strong infrared signals to the Advanced Receiver Units in the ceiling. In turn, these then send information to the displays and/or other communication devices, so that response teams are able to rapidly pinpoint the caller identity (if required), exact location and type of call.

All Personal Infrared Transmitters in the Pinpoint portfolio are designed to survive in hostile environments. They are manufactured from durable polycarbonate and ABS materials and incorporate Biomaster Antimicrobial Technology − a substance incorporated into the product to protect it whilst reducing the ability or microbe growth.

PITS are available in three different options:

Perpetual PIT − available in both single and twin code varieties. This PIT is energized each shift with an intelligent energizer. This type of PIT is particularly suited to disciplined environments that have a shift working pattern.

Badge PIT − is an emergency calling, personal infrared transmitter in the form of a standard ID badge-holder. As your ID badge may also be your access control fob, this allows you to have one device serving multiple purposes.

Battery PIT - this twin-code PIT has Pinpoint's standard high-quality membrane button on the base with its excellent resistance to accidental operation to provide the assistance level of call and is pulled from its retaining pin in an emergency. There is battery-checking circuitry to warn when the battery needs to be replaced.
Advanced Receiver Units (ARUs)

Advanced Receiver Units (ARUs)

When a staff member activates their Personal Infrared Transmitter (PIT), the ARU is triggered and transmits its “address” to designated LCD Display Units and other communication devices notifying response staff of the location and type of call.

ARUs include all over infrared windows as well as supersensitive circuitry to ensure the unit is triggered instantly by the coded infrared transmitters. They are programmed with their own unique address using a hand-held programmer or can be set up to share the address of another unit if required. ARUs come in either black or white.
Advanced Display Units

Advanced Display Units

Pinpoint provide a range of Display Units to suit every application. They can handle multiple incidents, displaying each in succession and removing when reset. When alarmed, the Display Unit will showcase up to 32 backlit characters that define the location of the Receiver Unit where an incident has taken place.

Display Units come in both large and standard size and are made from durable ABS plastic.
Over Door Lights (ODL)

Over Door Lights (ODL)

In order to assist staff when responding to a call on the Pinpoint System, Over Door Lights can be positioned where appropriate.
Rooms covered by the System can have a ODL located outside and above the entrance door to that room and can be wall or ceiling mounted.

When the system is activated from within these rooms, the ODL will flash and acts as a further aid to response staff. The ODL can be programmed to flash in a variety of colours to end user requirements.
Call Buttons

Call Buttons

Pinpoint provide a range of different Patient Call Buttons. These can be configured based on different user requirements. Available in either single or double-gang size. When the call button is activated, the red LED on the fascia flashes to indicate successful activation. The exact room location of activation is displayed on all relevant Advanced Display Units.
System Monitoring

System Monitoring

The Pinpoint System Supervisor Unit (SSU) has automatic system monitoring and advanced self-reporting capabilities. The SSU automatically checks each Receiver Unit, Call Buttons and Display Units as well as the integrity of the cabling. If a system fault is found during one of the automatic checks, direct reporting to Pinpoint Priority Service Team (providing there is a suitable modem/phone line available) is possible. The SSU is an optional surface mounted unit, housed in a grey metal box.

Patient/Nurse Call - WristPIT

Patient/Nurse Call - WristPIT

The WristPIT from Pinpoint is a bespoke patient call transmitter designed to be worn on the wrist.
This wrist-worn PIT is easily accessible and allows patients to activate a call for assistance even if they are away from their bed or a fixed call-point and pinpoints the exact location of the call.
Pinpoint’s renowned PIT technology (usually worn by staff for personal safety) has, for the first time, been designed around patient use. The WristPIT can withstand showering and brief submersion in water and also incorporates antimicrobial product protection, reducing the ability for bacteria to grow.
In addition to being water-resistant, the WristPIT has been designed to withstand harsh environments and user tampering, meaning suitability for facilities where service users may be at risk of self-harm.
