It’ll also take away that incessant stream of cold callers as you’ll always be in contract − isn’t that a wonderful thought!
Houses of Multiple Occupancy
Micro Business
employs fewer than 10 employees (or their full time equivalent) and has an annual turnover or balance sheet no greater than €2 million, or
consumes not more than 100,000 kWh of electricity per year,
or consumes not more than 293,000 kWh of gas per year.
Half Hourly Meters
By 1 April 2017, all businesses in profile classes 5 to 8 will have their energy use recorded every half hour. It’s up to the supplier to take all reasonable steps to ensure that businesses in profile classes 5-8 are supplied through advanced meters. This has been the case since April 2014.
And, since 5 November 2015, every customer who renews or starts a new contract with a new supplier will have their energy use recorded half hourly and used in ‘settlement’.
These changes only apply to non-domestic businesses that are in profile classes 5-8 and have an advanced meter installed.

With more wind power being planned for our coastal areas the amount of renewable energy will grow dramatically.
Electricity generation in the UK is becoming less and less dependant of coal which is being phased out entirely.
