GRP Water Tanks

Pre-insulated Water tanks protect contents from extremes of heat and cold, thereby reducing excessive tempurature fluctuations which increase the risk of bacteria growth.
To restrict microbiological growth the temperature in the water tank should be kept as low as possible and below 20 °C.
Insulation is available in either 25mm, 50mm, 75mm or 100mm expanded CFC free polyurethane foam encapsulated in both the lid and tank sides. Water Tanks supported on a flat base do not normally require insulation underneath.

Excell One Piece Tanks

Precolor 'EXELL' large rigid one piece water tanks of up to 21475 gallons (97,500 litres) are used extensively in the building & construction of schools, hospitals and many other types of buildings.
These large one piece water tanks are specifically designed as an superior alternative to sectional tanks where access is not restricted. The tanks are usually placed in position prior to building completion or for use externally where there are no restrictions present.

Semi Sectional Tanks

Semi-Sectional Water Storage Tanks (Two Piece Water Tanks) are
often used as an alternative to the fully Sectional Water Tanks when access is limited.
They are specifically designed with only one horizontal joint to allow access through doorways which can often save the cost of expensive sectional installation as they can easily be installed by your own site engineers.

F & E Water Tanks

Our GRP F & E tanks are manufactured with exceptional chemical resistance and an outstanding combination of heat resistance and flexibility.
The feed & expansion tanks are suitable for temperatures up to 120°c making them an excellant alternative to metal F & E tanks, they are corrosion resistant, they have a smooth internal bacteria resistant surface and are available with encapsulated CFC & HCFC insulation.
We keep many smaller sizes in stock, the range starts from 10 gallon/45 litres.

Plant Tanks

We have been manufacturing our 'plant tanks' which combine a water tank & pump housing into one unit for many years
A fully WRAS Approved tank on one side complete with air gaps when necessary and a plant housing on the other complete with plywood backing board, lockable door handles, louvred vents and stays for the double or singe doors that are available.

Bespoke Water Tanks

The vast experience gained from many years of working with GRP means we can offer our customers a complete service from design, mould making to manufacture and installation.

Sectional Water Tanks

Precolor GRP sectional tanks are used in hotels, schools and hospitals etc, both in this country and abroad. They are for use where access is restricted or if replacement of a defective water tank involves structural alteration to the building.
Often, one piece tanks or semi sectional tanks can be installed instead of the more costly sectional tanks. We would always advise our customers to consider these options before deciding on installing a sectional tank.
Sectional tanks can be supplied as a package with installation or supply only to be erected by competant engineers.

GRP Tank Housings

Precolor''s GRP Housings, Kiosks and Enclosures are designed to protect and insulate tanks, pipework, pumps, meters and associated equipment against the weather, accidental damage and vandalism.
Our housings can be supplied in one piece or in sections for assembly on site.
Our housings are very versatile and can be sited on the ground, a flat roof or any other level and even surface as required.
They can also be manufactured plain or with encapsulated insulation.
Custom made to your particular requirements.

GRP Covers

Precolor offer a range of self supporting and centrally supported GRP covers.
These can be circular, square or rectangular.
They are lightweight, weatherproof and can be made resistant to most chemicals.
They are suitable for covering tanks containing wholesome water, waste water and various chemicals.
Access hatches, inspection hatches, ladders, hand rails and walkways can be incorporated.
The picture on the left shows 3No 20 m diameter covers. They were installed over clay tanks that had been lined for use with wholesome water, incorporating type A air gaps to prevent mains contamination.
We offer a complete service from design and manufacture to installation on site.

Screened Overflow Kits

Precolor supplies a full range of fittings all of which meet the requirements of the UK Water Regulations, formerly known as Byelaw 30, we are able in many cases, to bring existing tanks up to current water regulations.
Our screened overflow kits include:-

Screened Warning Pipe
Screened Tank Vent
Precolor recommend the overflow to be a minimum of twice the size of the inlet into the tank.

Tank Accessories

All of our tanks can be manufactured as Plain GRP or Pre-Insulated with 25, 50, 75 or 100mm encapsulated HCFC and CFC Free foam insulation.
See picture to the right with standard insulation provisions allowing a single skin wall to be easily drilled for fittings.

As a storage tank specialist we offer the UK’s largest range of one piece water tanks ranging from 45 litres to 97,500 litres. Water Tanks can be supplied Pre-Insulated with the insulation encapsulated within the tank walls. All Pre Insulated One Piece Water Tanks up to 4000 litres (600 gallons) from our Imperial and Metric range are now being held in stock for the fastest possible turnaround.

Precolor also offers the full range of Sectional Water Tank, IFB, EFB & TIF tanks for those customers with restricted access, installed by our own experienced Site Engineers.

If access is problematic, through a large hatch or doorway, Precolor can also design and manufacture Semi Sectional Water Tanks up to 10,000 litres. Our Semi Sectional Water Tanks offer an excellent cost effective alternative to the conventional Sectional Water Tanks eliminating the need for expensive installation costs. A large variety of Semi Sectional Water Tanks are available in stock.

In addition to our standard tank range we can also offer our clients a bespoke solution in sizes to suit their requirements.

To compliment our tank range we also manufacture GRP Housings, kiosks and enclosures to protect and insulate water tanks as well as pipework, pumps, meters and associated equipment. We also supply fittings for water tanks including equilibrium ball valves, Aylesbury (Keraflo) float valves, screened overflow kits, AB Air gap weirs and float level switches to comply with water tank byelaws. We can laminate PVC pipes into the water tanks for outlets and supply BSP (Essex) connectors.
