Design & Supply of Fabric Ducting Systems

Design & Supply of Fabric Ducting Systems

Prihoda understand air temperature and air movement. We design every system from scratch − there is no stock, all systems are bespoke and designed specifically for that application. The aesthetics, diameter, length, air pattern, everything is designed to produce the air flow profiles demanded by that application. We produce comprehensive drawings and air flow graphics including REVIT and CAD drawings.
Truly the only ducting system designed and manufactured from scratch to suit every specific project.
Installation Services - Fabric Systems

Installation Services - Fabric Systems

Prihoda also have a network of approved installers across the UK, although we are equally happy to support your installation team.
We are fully insured and CHAS registered. Our engineers hold all of the relevant certifications with IPAF licenses and CSCS cards, etc.
We always survey every installation prior to work commencing and produce our own Risk and Method Statements for your information and approval.
Maintenance of Fabric Ducting Systems

Maintenance of Fabric Ducting Systems

All ducts need cleaning eventually. Prihoda can offer you a simple or comprehensive maintenance and cleaning service to suit your needs.
We can visit, remove, wash and re-install systems. If you have spare systems for rotational washing, we can stock the spare system for you or return it for you to store.
Alternatively, if the removal and re-installation is to be done by others, we can accept the ducts here for washing and return to you.
All ducts will be professionally washed and dried in industrial washing machines at low temperature. We’ll press, fold and bag your ducts for storage.
Please contact us to discuss a solution that suits you, from a simple wash to a comprehensive rolling scheduled maintenance arrangement.
We can supply replacement systems for any manufacturer of fabric ducting.
Design & Supply of Fabric Swirl Diffusers

Design & Supply of Fabric Swirl Diffusers

We have a range of fabric-based ceiling tile diffusers designed to sit into grid ceiling systems. Easy to clean Prihoda SquAireTex diffusers are held in place with zippers and Velcro and simply cleaned in a standard washing machine.
SquAireTex swirl diffusers are very lightweight and are designed to replace the weight of the ceiling tile removed. They are made from flame retardant polyester and come complete with a fabric plenum box and equaliser (an insulated plenum box is available for cooling applications).
A mixture of colours and sizes are available.

Air Socks

Air Socks

Air Socks from Prihoda are one of the most innovative air vent duct products on the market. Offering a cost-effective purchase cost and fast installation time alongside superb performance in air delivery. The air socks have a large amount of surface area in the room, which allows delivery of air equally and efficiently all over the space. The air sock material is rugged and long-lasting and comes with a 10-year warranty.
Fabric Ducting

Fabric Ducting

There are several benefits of fabric ventilation ducting systems over more traditional installations.

Price is a major factor with fabric duct systems. An air ventilation system with fabric ducts costs less than a rigid system and its associated grilles, especially if that system has to be insulated. Textile ducting systems also take less time to install, creating savings on installation time and access costs.
Maintenance is much easier with air socks than rigid ducting. Fabric is typically removed (unzipped), cleaned in a washing machine and re-installed. In reality, rigid ducting is often never cleaned due to cost and accessibility issues.
Air distribution is improved with the increased area of fabric ducting in a room, creating a platform to supply air over a larger area than traditional grilles alone. This is also helps to provide a much more controlled velocity and comfortable environment.
Colours, shapes, materials and visual layout can all combine to make a pleasant aesthetic impact whilst delivering air in a controlled predetermined way. With a lower capital cost and installation time and improved maintenance options, fabric duct systems can be an effective and attractive ventilation ducting option.
Shapes

Shapes

Fabric ducting is available in a range of shapes to suit different situations or aesthetics. Round ducts look great, but they might take up too much height in a low ceiling office, so one might look at the half round alternative. Perhaps a server room has so much air and such a small amount of space between servers and ceiling that a very wide but very shallow ellipse duct would be a better option. The application and the circumstances will generally suggest a shape.

Contact us to discuss your requirements.
Materials

Materials

All our ducting materials have been developed specifically for Fabric Ducting applications. After years of development, we have created the perfect materials for this textile ducting. Just the right weight and strength, flexibility and longevity, safe and consistent in quality and performance, whilst also offering the benefits needed from many different industries (cleanroom standard, flame retardant, anti-static etc).
Our most popular materials are available in 9 colours at no extra cost. Our Recycled or PVC coated materials are available in the four most requested colours: white, light Grey, dark Grey and blue.
All of our Classic and Premium materials have a 10 Year warranty with the exception of the Lightweight materials and the PVC coated material, which have a 2-year warranty period.

Colours

Colours

Prihoda fabric ducts are available in a range of 9 standard colours from stock, all of which are available at no additional cost. You can have all the ducts in one colour, several different colours or even have zipped sections in different colours − it’s all the same price! For example, play facilities can have ducts made of zipped sections in different colours. Food Factories tend to use blue Fabric Ducts for Low Risk Areas and red Fabric Ducts for High Care Areas. High Hygiene facilities often keep spare sets of ducts (wash one set, use the other) in different colours. Theatres usually have our black colour as standard to make them less visible against a black ceiling. If requested, we can also powder coat our anodised aluminium rails to match the colour of the duct.
We can offer nonstandard colours too for an additional charge. They can be chosen to match corporate colours or an event. We can even print publicity messages or images on the ducts.
Innovations - Insulated Ducting

Innovations - Insulated Ducting

The Prihoda insulated duct consists of an insulating layer of flame retardant polyester fibres sandwiched between two layers of flame retardant fabric. With a heat transfer coefficient of 1.8W/m²K, this is ideal for transferring warm air or air cooled below its dew point into the target area without affecting the temperature. Made in 2-metre sections between zips, this duct is available in diameters from 250mm upwards. This material is designed for air transfer and cannot be used with diffusers.
Maintenance & Warranty

Maintenance & Warranty

Our Classic and Premium materials come with a 10-year warranty. It doesn’t come with a requirement for annual cleaning unless there is a significant percentage of air travelling through micro-perforations.
The cleaning requirements of the duct depends on many factors: AHU system, the level of filtration, the cleanliness of the air in the immediate environment of the Fabric Ducting system(s), and the type of material and diffusers used.
Fabric Ducts may need washing for one of these reasons:

(1) The duct has become blocked with dust. This is very rare and is usually caused by poor filtration management on AHU systems using permeable fabric ducts with micro-perforations only.

(2) The duct appears dirty and is no longer aesthetic.

(3) Increased hygiene requirements in some applications.

Prihoda fabric ducts can be washed in a washing machine. For extra convenience, we also offer an in-house washing service.

Prihoda SquAireTex

Prihoda SquAireTex

Prihoda has developed the SquAireTex ceiling tile air diffuser for applications with lay-in grid ceilings. Our SquAireTex diffusers offer a range of air distribution options, including gently swirling the air around the room or diffusing it in one or more specific directions.

Made from an aluminium frame and lightweight flame retardant polyester fabric, they weigh no more than the tile they replace. This means no additional suspension support is required − saving you money and time.
Prihoda Art

Prihoda Art

Prihoda Art is a service that allows the imagination to GO WILD! And this is in addition to our market-leading 9 stock colours that are always available from Prihoda at no additional cost.

For an additional charge per square metre of material, we can apply any particular colour or image to your fabric ducting system to turn it into something that blends perfectly, has company colours or branding, or something that SHOUTS OUT by being vibrant or daring in connection with its environment.
Displacement Ventilation

Displacement Ventilation

Displacement Ventilation introduces supply air into a room at low velocity and usually at low level. The supply air arrives at a heat source, such as a person or computer, and is entrained into the rising air pattern caused by the warming of the ambient air around the heat source. The warmed air is then collected at high level by the extract system.

This is a typical description, but it doesn’t describe all the possibilities. Other types of displacement ventilation designs involve high volumes of air that effectively fill the room with air conditioning from the ground up, thus ensuring that the air in the Occupied Zone is freshest.

Diffuser Types

Diffuser Types

Our diffusers range from as tiny as 0.2mm up to several centimetres in diameter, from microperforations to large nozzles. We can combine several diffuser types on each duct to create the right air pattern for every application:

Microperforations: 0.2mm laser cut holes, calculated precisely to match the air volume and pressure available. Micro-perforations don’t allow the same level of dust build up within the duct as we’re not squeezing the air between loose fibres. We can make the microperforations directional too − a unique Prihoda innovation.

Laser-cut perforations: starting at 3mm diameter, these suit cooling applications and are often combined with microperforations.

Small nozzles: 20mm to 40mm diameter. Great for hot air distribution, ensuring enough throw, the right distance and the right direction.

Large nozzles: 80mm upwards. Perfect for high bay warehouses and anywhere needing a very long throw. They can also be adjustable, both in size and direction.

The air delivery is based upon an accurate, calculated and laser cut diffusion area, rather than an approximate permeable value per m2, meaning more accurate air and pressure control and more efficient operation of the AHU plant.
Arena & Concert Hall Ventilation

Arena & Concert Hall Ventilation

Fabric ducting is a very popular option for large arenas and concert halls because of the large quantities of ducting required in these applications. By using fabric ducting, we can create significant cost savings at this scale.

These applications usually demand a lot of air delivered over a large area. That’s where fabric ducting really shines. It can easily supply a high air volume at low velocity thanks to its huge surface area, which can be used in its entirety to diffuse the air. And it does this without unsettling the atmosphere or creating excessive noise.
Commercial Ventilation

Commercial Ventilation

Commercial ventilation systems can cover a wide range of commercial applications from retail through to sport and leisure as well as office accommodation. We are very active in all these areas and provide specialist commercial ducting solutions for each application based upon its special requirements. For example, offices with low ceilings and cool air conditioning temperatures will require low velocity air distribution, which we can do with aesthetic half round commercial duct systems and some really cool printing on the ducts, if required, to match your branding.

Industrial Ventilation

Industrial Ventilation

Industrial ventilation can cover many industries. We have a wide variety of materials and outlet diffusers designed to help ventilation engineers find the right combination for almost any industrial application.

Typically, industrial ventilation system requirements are categorised as ‘Specialist’ in that there is some process or operational requirement, such as low air velocity for a weighing machine; ‘General’ with no specific requirement beyond the need to ventilate/condition the space or process; or ‘Large Scale’, when there is a large space or volume of air to be accommodated.
Theatre & Cinema Ventilation

Theatre & Cinema Ventilation

Our bespoke fabric ducting provides excellent performance for theatre and cinema ventilation. We can design a system that delivers less air and at a lower velocity where the tiered seating is highest and closest to the duct, whilst the same duct can deliver a higher volume lower down, closer to the stage. Unlike rigid ducting, Prihoda fabric ducting does not reflect or deflect performance sounds back to the audience. We typically make theatre ducting in matt black, and always in flameproof material.
Swimming Pool Ventilation

Swimming Pool Ventilation

Fabric ducting is ideal for swimming pool ventilation. Traditional rigid duct systems for pool halls are quite large due to the air volumes needed to heat swimming pools. They also need to be protected and painted occasionally to avoid corrosion.

Fabric ducts never corrode. And because we can make the air pattern precisely for your needs, we can ensure that the airflow is gentle and pleasant − a very important consideration when dealing with wet bodies! This, combined with its ability to direct air exactly where it’s needed, e.g., glazing, makes fabric ducting a fantastic option for swimming pool ventilation.
Sports Hall Ventilation

Sports Hall Ventilation

Sports hall ventilation often combines the worst circumstances for trying to make a project work. Ducts are usually mounted at a high level, often over 10m, and supply air temperatures tend to be quite a bit warmer than the ambient room temperature, leading to wide Δt and fairly buoyant air, which needs to travel long distances due to the mounting height.

Added to these issues is the lack of air volume for the size of the room. This is typically one air change or less and often requires velocity control − especially if badminton is played in the courts area. We can address all these issues with our bespoke fabric ducting.
Office Ventilation

Office Ventilation

Office workers often complain of draughts or noise from the ventilation system in their offices. Stale air can also be an issue with insufficient air supply or poorly designed ventilation systems.

Prihoda fabric ducting for office ventilation is designed to deliver draught-free air flow − noiselessly. They are always designed bespoke, preventing unpleasant draughts whilst leaving no dead zones with stale air.

Easy to install and clean, and with a 10-year warranty on our most popular materials.
Laboratory Air Ventilation

Laboratory Air Ventilation

Labs typically require large volumes of make-up air to replace the air extracted through fume cupboards and other equipment. Traditional systems with rigid ducting and grilles inevitably create issues with draughts, noise and balancing, not to mention cleaning. Prihoda fabric ducts can prevent all these issues by delivering cleverly engineered air patterns.
Restaurant Ventilation

Restaurant Ventilation

Restaurants have quite specific requirements for air movement with customers sitting down to eat and socialise for several hours. The last thing customers want is to feel air movement at their table, restaurant ventilation is essential for creating the perfect atmosphere for your clientele. When using a rigid ducting system with grilles, an air conditioning system with split wall units or ceiling mounted cassettes is actually more difficult that most people allow for (it’s the same in offices).

Prihoda has designed and supplied many restaurant ventilation systems for restaurants over the years, most replace existing installations that create customer discomfort and/or noise complaints.
Gym Ventilation

Gym Ventilation

We all know that fitness centres and gyms can be cramped spaces, with low ceilings and high occupancy per square metre; they are often squeezed into basements or over shops where the rooms are adapted to provide the space and equipment required for members to work out and relax. And yet, indoor air quality is often overlooked! With Prihoda fabric ducts, that needn’t be the case.

Our bespoke fabric ducting is designed to address the needs of each particular project, preventing stale air and odours, and creating a more comfortable workout environment for all gym goers.
