High Performance Seals
Catalogue elastomer seals are typically produced using Fluorocarbon (FKM), Nitrile (NBR), Hydrogenation Nitrile (HNBR) each compound has varying performance limits in terms of temperature, surface speeds and fluid compatibility. Elastomer seals typically run with higher friction resulting in increased temperature, higher shaft wear and subsequent oil degradation.
For High Performance applications which demand maximum performance Race-Tec are able to offer a hybrid PTFE (Teflon®) elastomer seal, which is produced by forming and chemically bonding a layer of PTFE on to the seal lip allowing high surface speeds to be attained and significantly reduced power losses. However, unlike PTFE seals with a thin sprayed PTFE coating or seals which use single or multiple PTFE wafers our PL Technology retains the inherent flexibility the elastomer and combines this with the low friction performance of PTFE.

Water Pump Seals
Race-Tec Water Pump Seals replace mechanical face seals which create problems for motorsport design engineers in terms of performance, size and cost. Typical mechanical seals are made up from numerous components resulting in an assembly with a working height in excess of 10mm.
Extensive testing has resulted in a water pump seal capable of exceeding the performance of the mechanical seal, whilst also offering a more compact design.

Drive Shaft Boots
15 years of continuous development and innovation of Race-Tec driveshaft CV boots for fixed and plunging CV joints allows us to offer significant weight and packaging reductions for high performance motorsport applications which can be combined with innovative shielding against high velocity impacts for high mobility all-terrain vehicles.

Precision Mouldings
Race-Tec are able to offer a full range of materials including exotic material such as Perfluoroelastomer (FFKM), for demanding applications. With our vast experience of rubber bonding, Race-Tec have the ability to chemically bond most elastomers to metal or plastic. Metals such as stainless steel, aluminium, magnesium, titanium, and steel are commonly used.
Our flexible and open-minded approach allows us to undertake projects for which many companies would be unable to offer a solution. The ability to respond quickly also sees our resources being used for rapid prototyping on high volume OEM production projects.

Accumulator Bladders
A hydraulic accumulator is split into two cavities. One side is charged with nitrogen gas and the other side connected to a hydraulic system. The accumulator enables a hydraulic system to cope with extremes of operation allowing it to respond quickly to a temporary demand, and smoothing out pulsations.
Using MSc Marc non-linear Finite Element Analysis package, we offer custom designed Accumulator Bladder and Accumulator assemblies to meet the requirements of motorsport, high performance super cars and all-terrain vehicles.

Vibration Isolation Mounts
Race-Tec material testing capabilities have been further extended allowing Dynamic Modulus Analysis [DMA] to be carried out on their materials, providing the Storage and Loss modulus on the compounds from 0.1Hz to 600Hz. Using Temperature Time Supposition a complete polynomial model of the material properties is established.
Using MSc Marc Non-Linear Finite Element Analysis package, a 2D or 3D model of the proposed component is created, a mesh is applied and the polynomial material model from the DMA testing is imported and the simulation of isolator’s frequency response is completed.
This enables Race-Tec to offer Harmonic Analysis based on the applications disturbing frequencies and provides a frequency response curve typically supplied as a transmissibility curve.
