Refcool provide a comprehensive package of aftercare to clients throughout the UK.
Our engineers are experienced in working on all the main process chiller brands.
We service air and water cooled chillers as well as airblast cooler systems. We are competent to work on all refrigerant compressor types and have a deep knowledge of their specific application. Additionally our engineers are also trained in natural gas refrigerant systems.

Design & Manufacture
Using the deep engineering experience in Refcool, we can offer a design and build service for bespoke refrigeration and temperature control equipment. For small production runs and prototypes they can be cost effectively built in our own premises by our qualifed F gas engineers. For larger production runs Refcool can use its extensive network of overseas manufacturers to help to source and maintain quality.

Refcool routinely carries out full turnkey installations of cooling systems often comprising chillers, free-coolers, adiabatic coolers and associated ancillary equipment such as tanks and pump-sets.
Design
We can provide both mechanical and electrical services and where required also provide full schematic design drawings. We have in-house 3D design capability for the design of pump stations and other stand-alone equipment.
We work alongside the client utilising their intimate process knowledge and combine this with our design and in-field experience to deliver the optimum solution.

Lease / Hire
Refcool Refrigeration offer a complete Chiller and Cooling Hire Service, from 1-600kW. The chillers can be supplied as packaged units with pumps and tanks or as separate items to suit your requirement. Hoses, vessels, pumps and heat exchangers can be provided to simplify your task of providing a solution to your breakdown or rental requirement. We can hire for a little as a week if required and from next day delivery, Refcool equipment hire can be a very cost effective and convenient option. All our equipment is fully supported by our national team of engineers so that the hired equipment is installed and commissioned properly. Short-term or long-term hire is available to suit your needs. Sometimes our clients prefer long-term hire rather to full outright purchase as it provides greater flexibility.
If you Require a Fixed Site Solution without the associated immediate full capital spend.
Additionally contract lease hire is available across the range, on a 1 to 5 year periods. Refcool have a range of smaller chillers (typically up to around 100kW) and equipment available from stock for quick delivery from both the UK and France. Free Coolers & Condensers
Free coolers are sometimes referred to as Dry coolers, as it is typically a closed loop cooling circuit. By passing ambient air over a coil, the free cooler dissipates heat from a fluid typically water. Where ambient goes below 4C, there becomes a risk of water freezing, and an inhibitor like Glycol is normally used in appropriate dilution. Given the variations in ambient temperature in the UK from -5C to 30C, care is needed particularly to accommodate any thermal expansion and contraction. This is usually dealt with by using an expansion vessel, and some form of pressure relief valve in the thermal circuit.
To make the cooler as efficient as possible the fans are controlled to ensure the desired return cooling fluid temperature, I,e, the higher above target temperature, the more airflow passes through the coil, this is typically done either
by step control where each fans is separately controlled and is either on or off

Data Centre / Server Room cooling
We focus on small to medium scale installations providing specialist equipment with multiple options and configurations for ease of installation for both new and retrofit system scenarios.
We supply multiple cooling 'tools', from DX rear door coolers through to in-Rack coolers to achieve the cooling performance and system redundancy levels required.
Manufactured in the UK at our Devon based facility are our own range of both DX and water cooled 'In -Rack' Server coolers. These are simple to install, easy to maintain with features such as Hot swappable fans and well proven in the field.
In addition we represent our Spanish partner Focus Cooling and supply, install and service their range of DX Rear door coolers which are ideal for high density rooms and particularly High Performance Computing HPC systems and for solving local 'hot spot' issues. This solution is also perfect for retrofit into established facilities where additional capacity may be required and provide unrivalled flexibility, modularity and security of service.

Domestic Open Loop Ground Source Heat Pumps
In response to rising energy costs and coupled with the public’s increasing environmental and carbon footprint awareness, there is a growing need for a more efficient method of heating the home with a lower impact on the environment and reduced running costs.
We have developed a range of Open Loop Ground Source Heat Pumps aimed at domestic and commercial applications. The heat pump draws water from the ground (typically a borehole) and extracts heat from it, which is then raised in temperature and delivered to the heated area. Two separate water circuits are available, one for space heating up to 55 °C and another for potable domestic hot water up to 65°C.
Refcool’s Soleco range (below) offer efficiency factors (COP) of 4.5 typically.
