Products
Rubber Seals
Although we are primarily a silicone moulding company we do mould rubber seals in other materials if the product demands, such as Neoprene, Nitrile, EPDM, Fluorosilicone and TPE materials.
We manufacture custom seals in the UK and far east. We can supply moulded seals, high temperature seals, custom silicone seals. As mentioned, bespoke and custom silicone seals, neoprene, nitrile, viton, and EPDM seals. More on materials see our materials page.
Rubber Gaskets
Rubber Bellows
Rubber Gaiters
Rubber Gaiter Mouldings are often used in assemblies with moving joints to protect and seal the part from dust and liquids. We supply many different designs of Rubber Gaiter Mouldings and our mouldings are used in brake systems for trains, isolator valves in pharmaceutical processing equipment and in the automotive industry.
Instrument Covers
Custom Keypads
Custom rubber keypads can be manufactured to a size that suites the customers assembly, they can incorporate different size and shaped buttons and they can also incorporate O-ring designed sealing features that can sometimes remove the need for separate seal mouldings.
Operation Types
This is sometimes determined by design restrictions of the product, environment the product will be used in or perhaps the type of user the product is aimed at. There are several options available.
Backlit Keypads
Many electronic products are now designed to offer some form of backlit illumination utilising LED’s mounted behind a silicone keypad, this could be a simple indicator to show the device is powered or it could be a complete array of illuminated legends.
Finishing Options
Plastic Injection Mouldings
Our mouldings can be spray painted, printed and even chrome plated to further enhance the value of the product. With our close links to material suppliers we can also ensure only the highest quality and most appropriate materials for the products are used.
Double Injection Mouldings
These two methods of production allow a part to be produced in two different material types or colours without the need for additional, often expensive assembly operations.
For over moulding, generally a TPE thermoplastic rubber is used to co-mould onto a plastic material, usually ABS or PC in a two tool stage process. This is used on many instrument cases where the customer wants to produce a case that has a durable feel and to offer further impact protection to the plastic shell.
Plastic Key Caps
Plastic caps can be produced in ABS, Polycarbonate and Acrylic depending on the product requirements.
Caps can also be produced using a two shot moulding process so that the legends are produced from a different coloured plastic to that of the main cap material, this is more expensive but on high volume and high usage products it eliminates the problem of printed legends wearing over time.
In-Mould Decoration
The process involves printing the artwork required onto a photo epoxy coated film; this film is then formed in a tool to match the shape of the plastic moulding.
This formed film is then loaded into the injection moulding machine when the main plastic component is moulded and becomes part of the finished product during moulding.
This method of production allows the customer to achieve different colours, effects and textures on the final product, all complete when the moulding leaves the tool. It also means that if any changes required to the finish, colours or effects can be changed without the need for new tooling only the need to change the pre-formed film. The graphics will also never wear off the part as they are encapsulated between the film and resin layer.
