Abstract - Interesting and Engaging Play
Our abstract timber play units can be explored around the outside, up the inside, over the top and through the middle, challenging children to explore the three dimensional space the climbing frame occupies. There is no right or wrong way to play with our school playground equipment.
Spiffy - Bright & Funky Climber
Spiffy is a bright and funky climber that is designed to stimulate the core development requirements of Key Stage 1 children, combining a surprising number of challenging physical activities with a non-prsecriptive ethos and a quirky design in a very compact unit.
A tube net atthe hub of the unit is the catalyst to explore all points from the inside out. The outside faces of the unit provide challenges to enable a complete traverse to be achieved. Grip and grasp are challenged via the overhead wedge ladder, balance and strength challenged through the rock traverse walls, a wavy overhead bar provides a destabilising influence whilst trying to cross the foot rope, and a spider’s web net provides a climbing and crossing opportunity with a difference. A fun crossing is provided by a swivel step that rotates 180 degrees, completing the circuit.
This non-prescriptive design means children can approach Spiffy from any angle, and set off in any direction they’d like. This open, welcoming and modern playground design is a firm favourite with primary schools.

Onyx - A Sense of Adventure
Onyx was inspired by a teacher who gave us a brief for some ‘boulders’ for her pupils to explore. Perfect for primary school playgrounds that are lacking something for their Key Stage 2’s, Onyx features two timber boulders rising 2m and 1.8m high, covered in rock holds, and linked by a Burma Bridge and a large Traverse Net.

Vibe - Designed to be the Evolution
Vibe is designed to be the evolution of the typical tower unit − instead the ubiquitous ‘four uprights and a platform’, the Vibe features five angled uprights in a pentagonal configuration, giving it a quirky, angular appearance.
Vibe is available with either a 900mm high deck or a 1500mm high deck, depending on the intended age range − a lower deck is more accessible to younger children, whilst a higher deck presents a fun challenge to older kids.
The standard activities on the 900mm high unit are a vertical traverse net, the barrel climber, scramble net, drop rope traverse and the HDPE slide, a play bench/table provides low level accessible play.

At Setter Play we pride ourselves on our bespoke designs that we can customise to fit your space. This is true of our storage solutions too, which can be designed to any size. We offer them in all timber, hdpe and timber, or all hdpe.
We also offer integral storage solutions that can be added on to any one of our outdoor classrooms, canopies, or shelters; one school local to us opted for three large storage chests that were attached to the outside of their 5m hexagonal gazebo; this provided them with a large amount of storage in the centre of their play area, to store all their pupils’ favourite toys.
Our storage is of course lockable, to provide security.

Bespoke Greenwood Activity Trail
The smallest trail, Greenwood, features an Incline Beam, Slalom, Clatter Bridge, Crossed Ropes, and 5 Stepping Posts in a well rounded activity trail that features a range of activities. This trail takes up 21 linear metres of space.
This trail is designed to give a nice balance between bridge-based, rope-based, and balancing activities, all whilst staying within a very tight budget.

Our Unique Heartwood Activity Trail
The medium trail, Heartwood, features all the activities of the Greenwood, but also adds a Drop-Rope Traverse, Springy Plank, Burma Bridge, Swinging Steps, and Stilts, to increase the challenge. This trail occupies 34 linear metres, pre-safety surfacing.

Bike & Buggy Shelters & Utility Buildings
As an antidote to the ubiquitous steel bike shelters that are seen in many environments, Setter Play is now able to offer desirable aesthetic solutions by using gracefully curved timber. The robust Douglas Fir has undergone pressure treatment, meaning that durability and low maintenance comes as standard with any of our buggy shelters.
