Prop Making

Prop Making

Prop making uses a wide range of both modern and traditional techniques in the creation of high-quality props and sculptures. We take pride in our track record of delivering projects from concept to final production. Our props are treated with the utmost respect and that includes every stage of their development from design through to painting the props in our purpose-built spray booth, to the logistics of shipping worldwide.
Sculpting

Sculpting

We love sculpting! Our experienced sculptors work with a range of materials to create life like and highly detailed sculptures in both miniature or large scale formats. We typically sculpt in clay, polystyrene, foam and wood. We work from either 2-D drawings or sketches to 3-D computerised artwork. We also offer prop design as one of our services should you need some help starting your project.
Prop Design

Prop Design

If you don’t have a sketch or a design then you’ve come to the right place. We offer prop design as part of our prop making process by creating 3-D artwork of your ideas. We use software such as Sketch-UP, AutoCAD and Photoshop to achieve this. We can provide you with scamps and mood boards to help create the atmosphere for an upcoming retail display campaign or illustrate how we intend to make that realistic museum artefact, prop or replica.
Polystyrene Carving

Polystyrene Carving

Polystyrene carving gives us the chance to produce stunning polystyrene props that can create a striking first impression when used as part of a retail or event display.
Moulding & Casting

Moulding & Casting

Moulding and casting is a skill in itself and it is something we are very good at. Once we have sculpted your props, there is the option to mould and cast them. If we aren’t hard-coating your polystyrene sculpture, we will most likely mould it and cast it in fibreglass. We work with various types moulds depending on the project which include: silicone moulds, fibreglass moulds and plaster moulds.
Paint Spraying & Finishing

Paint Spraying & Finishing

We take great care to make sure your props are paint sprayed and finished to the highest of standards.
Vacuum Forming

Vacuum Forming

Vacuum forming is a process whereby plastic sheets are heated and formed over an object under pressure of a vacuum. We have a vacuum forming machine that we utilise whenever we have to make repeats of simple shapes, we made lots of hearts, for instance, which were used for a retail window display for valentines day. We made the heart shape, then cast it in fibreglass and placed it in the vacuum forming machine. This method is fairly inexpensive and produces beautifully finished objects.
