NPORS S031 − Construction Site Safety Manager Training Course

This course is administered by NPORS, and is designed for all individuals responsible for planning, organising, monitoring, controlling and administering a work force. Typically these would be site managers, potential site managers, supervisors, and anyone with health and safety responsibilities.

NPORS S029 − Construction Site Supervisor Training Course

First line managers − those who have, or are about to acquire supervisory responsibilities who require an understanding of legal responsibilities relevant to their work activities.

The course provides a sound knowledge base enabling them to give valuable assistance in safely managing a construction site.

NPORS S001 − Site Safety Awareness

This course is designed for site workers to help understand the potential hazards faced when working on a construction or civil engineering site.
The course provides a practical summary of health and safety, welfare and environmental issues identifying individual responsibilities for looking after themselves and others, what the employer’s duties are and what should be done if they think anyone’s health and safety is being put at risk.
This course is for those who have entered, or are about to enter, the construction and civil engineering industry as a member of the workforce and is a mandatory requirement for those wanting a CSCS Operatives Card.

Emergency First Aid at Work Training Course

The Emergency First Aid at Work course is intended to train participants to take responsibility for first aid in their workplace according to the level required by their organisation’s first aid risk assessment.

Course ContentOn completion of training, successful candidates should be able to:understand the role of the first-aider, including reference to: the importance of preventing cross-infection; the need for recording incidents and actions; and the use of available equipment;
assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency;
administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure);
administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation;
administer first aid to a casualty who is choking;
administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding;
administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock;
provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries (including small cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters).

Harness Use & Inspection Training Course

Falls from height remain the most common cause of workplace fatality. In 2011/12 there were 40 fatalities, over 3000 major injuries and a further 4000 injuries that caused the injured person to be off work for over 3 days or more, due to a fall from height. Signing Lighting & Guarding Training Course

Summary
This unit is designed to allow the candidate to demonstrate the skills and knowledge required to successfully sign, light and guard a work site.
The unit is equivalent to Street Works Unit O1, issued in England.

Unit Details

The candidate will be able to survey the work site to put in place suitable provision for the site location requirements, ensuring the safe passage of pedestrians and site personnel, the safety of vehicular traffic, provision for any special needs, including cyclists and horse riders, and provision for vehicles and plant in the working area. They will be able to put in place suitable equipment to protect pedestrians, vehicular traffic and site personnel, and will be able to provide and control portable traffic signals and Stop/Go traffic control in line with site location requirements and traffic conditions.

Abrasive Wheels Training

This course is aimed at anyone who uses abrasive wheels, or employs people who use abrasive wheels as part of their work. It covers different types of abrasive wheel, safety in their use and how to identify the type of wheel.

ADHD Awareness Training

ADHD is a chronic condition that creates a range of persistent symptoms such as difficulty sustaining attention, hyperactivity and impulsive behaviour. The course covers the definitions of ADHD, the different types of ADHD and how to recognise some key signs and symptoms. It’ll also talk about how ADHD is diagnosed and treated, and offer some useful information about how to live with ADHD.

Achieving Food Hygiene Rating Level 5

This course is intended to give you an overview of how the National Food Hygiene Rating Scheme works, what the scoring criteria are and how these are assessed by the inspectors, the appeals process, the Safer Food Better Business management system, E-Coli and concludes with some practical advice for ensuring your premises gets the best score possible.

Alcohol Personal Licence Holder

This course is intended to provide you with the knowledge you need to complete the test to become a personal licence holder. It covers all the major topics relating to UK licensing law, responsibilities and penalties for breaching these. It also looks in detail at the issue of age verification including an interactive element to support learning in this area.

Anti Harassment & Bullying Training

This course covers the commitments that should be laid out in your company’s anti-harassment and bullying policy so as to comply with UK law. It explains the differences between harassment and bullying, the steps that can be taken if either of these occur in or out of work, and some case studies to illustrate the points covered throughout the course.

Lockdown Procedure in Schools Training

This course will start by introducing the learning outcomes and role of the lockdown officer, then discuss some of the likely reasons for a lockdown, go over some of the steps you can take to prepare your school for lockdown as well as what to do in the event of a lockdown taking place.

Allergen Awareness Training

This course covers general allergies, food allergies and food intolerances and explains the differences between them. It covers the 14 allergens controlled by legislation along with food additives and how they can trigger allergic reactions. It takes a detailed look at the symptoms of food allergies and takes in the wider picture discussing the current theories of why rates are increasing. It then finishes off by covering practical steps that can be taken to reduce the risk from allergens and also what steps can be taken both internally and externally to monitor the control measures.
