Highway Grid Maintenance

Triangle has adopted specialist methods for damaged concrete nosing repairs. When the nosing concrete breaks away it can compromise the stability of the grid steels when traffic wheels drop onto the exposed transverse beams, therefore this type of deterioration needs early remedy.
In situ concrete repair
Precast nosing replacement section
Nosing replacement adds many years to the life of the grid concrete. Precast sections can be fitted in one day. Where precast is not suitable, we can cast concrete in situ, but this method requires a 5-day closure − in some cases, only half the nosing requires replacing and only a half rod closure is required.

Balustrading & Balconies

Triangle designs, fabricates, supplies and installs bespoke steel balustrading. We can incorporate a standard, modern or feature design, or a design that retains the heritage and character of your building. We collaborate with you to deliver a unique product blend of:

Highway Balustrading

Bespoke Architectural Highway Balustrading: Our speciality is to recreate architectural steel or wood balustrading that retains the heritage and character of the original design. We bespoke fabricate using a combination of profiled steel and machining to exactly match existing balustrading, saving time and money on expensive casting.
Standard Balustrading: We maintain, repair and fit standard highway balustrading in concrete, wood, steel, or standard Kee Klamp.
Pedestrian Guard Railing: We can design guard rails that provide an effective roadside barrier for pedestrian safety, yet allows good visibility for pedestrians and motorists.

Footbridges

Triangle has 20 years of experience carrying out full replacement, and minor and major repairs, to highway footbridges. We have the experience and specialist equipment for working over water, including using pontoons. We are also experienced and equipped with specialist equipment for working at height and over Network Rail. We have developed a safety working cage for working over bridge voids (see Bespoke and Specialist product section). Repair works are usually to the balustrading and decking. Triangle has completed the most challenging projects working nights over Network Rail, carrying out complete deck replacements.

Bridges

Triangle has 20 years experience carrying out minor and major repairs to highway bridges. These works usually involve the rebuilding of damaged structures − particularly impact damage to brick structures and damage from brick spalling and vegetation growth. We also replace tie bars and pattress plates.
We work off scaffolding or pontoons to meet the requirements of the EA. We offer turnkey solutions including the supply of TM road closures and diversions.
We are able to source matching heritage bricks, copings and hydraulic grout for listed bridges. Where copings cannot be sourced, we are able to cast our own to exactly match the original in size, shape and colour.

Bespoke & Specialist

Our multi locks for multi-access locks, such as Council and Water Boards − these allow each user to have their own padlock, usually when a company has its own alike key padlocks.
Available in stainless or mild steel, to take 2 to 8 padlocks.

As well as staircases, cattle grids and balustrades, we also offer specialist scaffolding for areas of limited access, areas with restricted clearance, installation time constraints and more. These scaffolds are totally enclosed to prevent falling debris and can be installed within a matter of hours.
