Steelgard GP
Steelgard GP or General Purpose is the easy way to protect metal parts and surfaces from corrosion during manufacture, storage and shipping. For industrial use it can be easily decanted into sprayers or used in dip-tanks. Applied at every stage of metalwork from first cut or immediately after casting, after each stage of machining and finishing, it prevents pinprick rust from setting in and wards off corrosion issues, ensuring your products arrive with your customers in perfect condition.
Steelgard GP is manufactured to meet the requirements of MoD Standard PX-24 and NATO Code C-634. An extremely high-quality product which replaces traditional oily, messy coatings or lacquers which can be unreliable and difficult to remove.
Steelgard GP is compatible with most fuels and lubricants so does not need removing before automotive parts are put into service. If required, Steelgard GP can be simply wiped off and if your product needs to be coated or the bare metal exposed for any reason, a simple solvent wash will remove all traces.

Steelgard RP Grease
A stalwart of the Steelgard family of corrosion inhibitors, Steelgard RP Grease (the RP stands for Rust Prevention) is our thickest and most heavy-duty contact corrosion preventative.
Usually applied by brush to protect parts at significant risk of corrosion due to atmospheric conditions or exposure to the elements, RP Grease is lubricating, penetrating and stays in place ensuring metal parts move smoothly against each other and stay protected from oxidation, moisture penetration and rusting.
Effective at temperatures from -40C − +100C and able to withstand minor temperature excursions in excess of 150C, RP Grease will continue to provide protection in the most extreme environments.
Used extensively in offshore, marine and dockside environments, Steelgard RP Grease protects from salt water, high humidity, high temperatures and industrial pollution. Where different metals are in contact in a coupling or stranded together in a cable, Steelgard RP Grease will fill the contact area or crevices and protect from galvanic or crevice corrosion as well as inhibiting rust on iron, steel and ferrous alloys.

When products are destined for customers in far-flung places they may encounter more challenging conditions which require a more resilient corrosion preventative:
• High temperatures • Corrosive atmospheres • Salt and condensation • Packing case corrosion
These are often compounded by delays, severe weather, damaged packing cases, corrosive fumes and dust, and lengthy periods in storage before delivery to end customer.
Traditional thick, heavy coatings can be difficult, messy and time-consuming to apply and even worse to remove, often prone to dry into a lacquer or gum. In high temperatures they may even melt and drain away, leaving parts exposed.
Steelgard Export is proven to be a far more effective solution. It is easy to apply by spray, brush, dip etc. We can even add a dye to help ensure complete coverage. During application it removes water, neutralises fingerprints and spreads and penetrates easily into nooks and crannies. Once dry it leaves a thin, transparent film of c. 10 microns which is soft, lubricating and self-healing.

Steelgard TD20
Steelgard GP and Steelgard Export are perfect for a wide range of applications. Between them they are effective at preventing corrosion in everything from jet engines to off-road vehicles being transported across the equator. Trusted by customers worldwide including the UK Ministry of Defence and the Singapore Air Force, the name Steelgard has become synonymous with reliable corrosion prevention in a clean, simple and easy to use formulation.
Some customers were finding Steelgard highly effective but, due to the ultra-thin, lubricating film having a slightly greasy feel, wanted a corrosion inhibitor which was just as good at preventing corrosion but with a finish more suited to leaving on their finished products or with better handling during the manufacturing process.
At Vapor-Tek we are always happy to accept a challenge… we headed to the lab and formulated Steelgard TD − Touch Dry. We decided to offer two formulations.
Steelgard TD20 has 20% active inhibitors and is a slightly stronger corrosion preventative than Steelgard GP.
Steelgard TD30 has 30% active inhibitors which brings it closer to Steelgard Export in effectiveness, but still with a touch-dry finish for easy handling.
