VEGAPULS 6X − Radar Level Sensor

VEGAPULS 6X − Radar Level Sensor

VEGAPULS 6X is a universal sensor for continuous level measurement of liquids and bulk solids under all process conditions. Due to its application-oriented configuration and setup, VEGAPULS 6X offers a reliable and economical solution for all level applications. Due to its variable antenna systems, it ensures maintenance-free operation in all applications.
Compact Radar Level Sensors

Compact Radar Level Sensors

Advantages of radar technology compared to ultrasonic sensors:

Where ultrasonic level measurement reaches its limits.

Compared to ultrasonic measuring instruments, radar sensors measure unaffected by temperature fluctuations, vacuum or high pressures and are insensitive to contamination. 80 GHz radar sensors also convince with very good signal focusing. This makes it easier to separate measurement and interference signals - the measurement is much easier and more accurate.
VEGAPULS Air

VEGAPULS Air

Autonomous radar sensors deliver digital measured values − anywhere and at any time.

The sensors of the VEGAPULS Air series are the right solution for almost all autonomous level measurements of bulk solids and liquids − whether in plastic containers, IBC containers, mobile silos, process vessels or tanks. The protection classes of the housings ensure continuous, maintenance-free operation, even outdoors.

VEGAPULS Air sensors operate wirelessly and are powered by a battery. This means they can be put into operation immediately after simple installation. Thanks to their wide range of possible applications, the autonomous radar sensors can be used in cities and various areas of industry, such as logistics, production or agriculture, to optimise processes.
Process Pressure Measurement

Process Pressure Measurement

VEGABAR: Process pressure measurement

Pressure transmitters are essential for monitoring the pressure of liquids, gases, and vapours within pipes or enclosed vessels. These devices work by converting the applied pressure from the medium into an electronic signal through a pressure measuring cell. VEGABAR pressure transmitters are particularly suited for applications requiring precise measurement of both relative and absolute pressure, especially in environments subject to condensation or rapid temperature fluctuations.
Hydrostatic Pressure Measurement

Hydrostatic Pressure Measurement

VEGABAR, VEGAWELL: Hydrostatic pressure measurement

The pressure transducer’s measuring cell senses small variations in hydrostatic pressure, which fluctuate based on the filling level. This detected pressure is then converted into an output signal by the integrated electronics. For accurate hydrostatic pressure measurement, both ceramic-capacitive and metallic measuring cells are used.
Differential Pressure Measurement

Differential Pressure Measurement

Differential pressure measurement involves two different pressures acting on an oil-filled measuring cell from opposite sides. The resulting pressure difference is converted into an electronic signal. This method is versatile, allowing for the measurement of pressure, level, density, and flow in liquids, suspensions, gases, and vapours.

VEGA also offers Electronic Differential Pressure Measurement. Using an advanced software and hardware concept, any two pressure transmitters from the VEGABAR 80 series can be combined to create an electronic differential pressure system. This innovative approach is commonly used in applications involving filters, pumps, and pipelines.
VEGABAR Compact Pressure Switch with 360° Status Display

VEGABAR Compact Pressure Switch with 360° Status Display

The VEGABAR series pressure switches are designed for standard applications, offering a unique advantage with their 360° switching status display. This luminous feature allows all switching states to be visually detected from any direction. The colour of the illuminated ring can be freely chosen from over 256 options, ensuring clear visibility even in daylight.

At a glance, you can easily determine if the measuring process is active, if the sensor is switching, or if there is a potential fault in the process.
  • Operation via Smartphone: For convenient, remote management.
  • Hygienic Design: Ensures compliance with hygiene standards.
  • Easy Integration with IO-Link: Facilitates seamless connectivity and integration.
VEGAPOINT Compact Level Switch with 360° Status Display

VEGAPOINT Compact Level Switch with 360° Status Display

The VEGAPOINT capacitive point level switches are designed for measuring liquids and light bulk solids in standard applications. The 360° status display allows for clear visibility of all switching states from any angle. The illuminated ring can be customised with over 256 colours, remaining easily visible even in daylight. This feature provides immediate visual feedback, showing whether the measuring process is active, if the sensor is switching, or if there is a potential fault.
  • Operation via Smartphone: For convenient, remote management.
  • Hygienic Design: Ensures compliance with hygiene standards.
  • Easy Integration with IO-Link: Facilitates seamless connectivity and integration.
VEGAFLEX: Level and Interface Measurement with Guided Wave Radar (GWR)

VEGAFLEX: Level and Interface Measurement with Guided Wave Radar (GWR)

Guided wave radar (GWR) is used for precise level and interface measurement by sending microwave pulses along a cable or rod probe, which then reflect off the product surface. The TDR sensor's measuring probe ensures that the signal travels to the medium without interference. This technique is commonly employed to measure liquids, bulk solids, and separation layers (interfaces) in liquids.
PROTRAC: Radiation-Based Level Measurement

PROTRAC: Radiation-Based Level Measurement

Radiometric level measurement uses a slightly radioactive isotope to emit focused gamma rays. These rays are detected by a sensor mounted on the opposite side of the vessel. As gamma rays pass through materials, their intensity decreases, allowing the sensor to determine level, point level, density, or mass flow based on the remaining radiation intensity.

About us

VEGA Controls specialises in level sensors, pressure transmitters, and point level switches. We are a world-leading manufacturer of advanced instrumentation technologies and solutions for measuring and controlling liquids, solids, and gases.

Our approval portfolio includes certifications for ATEX, marine, mining, NACE, NORSOK, hygienic and environmental standards, as well as SIL IEC61508/11 up to levels 2 and 3, and EMPHASIS-assessed devices for the nuclear power industry.

Our Products Include:

Continuous Level Measurement with Level Sensors

In continuous level measurement, various methods are used to detect the level of a medium in a tank or silo, converting it into an electronic signal. This signal can be displayed on-site or integrated into a process control or management system.

Level Switches for Point Level Measurement & Measuring Techniques
In point level detection, a switch identifies when a predefined level is reached, unlike continuous level measurement which tracks all intermediate levels. These devices are used to start or stop filling equipment like conveyors or pumps and can output a binary signal for integration into a process control system. Point level detection is applicable to liquids, pastes, powders, or coarse bulk solids.

Measuring Principles for Pressure Measurement
Pressure measurement techniques can be utilised to measure process pressure, differential pressure, as well as level, volume, density, or mass flow in various areas of process technology. Pressure transmitters cover a wide range, from a few mbar to extreme pressures up to 1,000 bar, using different types of measuring cells.

Measuring Method for Interface Measurement
Interfaces, or boundaries between separation layers, are common in the process industry, such as in the chemical and oil & gas sectors. These occur when two media with different densities, like water and oil, are in a container. Identifying the transition point between these media is essential for separation. VEGA sensors are capable of reliably measuring both the total level and the interface.

Measuring Techniques for Density Measurement
Density measurement is used to determine the proportion of solid matter in a liquid. Common applications in the process industry include measuring acid and lye concentrations, the density of abrasive or sticky liquid mixtures, and the solid content in sludges and slurries.

… And more.

VEGA offers users peace of mind with direct, expert advice on level and pressure solutions, along with reliable after-sales service. All VEGA products come with a 3-year warranty, reflecting their quality, innovative design, and extensive experience.
