Where ultrasonic level measurement reaches its limits.
Compared to ultrasonic measuring instruments, radar sensors measure unaffected by temperature fluctuations, vacuum or high pressures and are insensitive to contamination. 80 GHz radar sensors also convince with very good signal focusing. This makes it easier to separate measurement and interference signals - the measurement is much easier and more accurate.

The sensors of the VEGAPULS Air series are the right solution for almost all autonomous level measurements of bulk solids and liquids − whether in plastic containers, IBC containers, mobile silos, process vessels or tanks. The protection classes of the housings ensure continuous, maintenance-free operation, even outdoors.
VEGAPULS Air sensors operate wirelessly and are powered by a battery. This means they can be put into operation immediately after simple installation. Thanks to their wide range of possible applications, the autonomous radar sensors can be used in cities and various areas of industry, such as logistics, production or agriculture, to optimise processes.
Process Pressure Measurement
Pressure transmitters are essential for monitoring the pressure of liquids, gases, and vapours within pipes or enclosed vessels. These devices work by converting the applied pressure from the medium into an electronic signal through a pressure measuring cell. VEGABAR pressure transmitters are particularly suited for applications requiring precise measurement of both relative and absolute pressure, especially in environments subject to condensation or rapid temperature fluctuations.
Hydrostatic Pressure Measurement
The pressure transducer’s measuring cell senses small variations in hydrostatic pressure, which fluctuate based on the filling level. This detected pressure is then converted into an output signal by the integrated electronics. For accurate hydrostatic pressure measurement, both ceramic-capacitive and metallic measuring cells are used.
Differential Pressure Measurement
VEGA also offers Electronic Differential Pressure Measurement. Using an advanced software and hardware concept, any two pressure transmitters from the VEGABAR 80 series can be combined to create an electronic differential pressure system. This innovative approach is commonly used in applications involving filters, pumps, and pipelines.

Continuous Level Measurement with Level Sensors
In continuous level measurement, various methods are used to detect the level of a medium in a tank or silo, converting it into an electronic signal. This signal can be displayed on-site or integrated into a process control or management system.
Level Switches for Point Level Measurement & Measuring Techniques
