Our hot cup lids are made from plant-based CPLA, which is 67% lower in carbon than plastic. They're heat resistant up to 85°C, with a tight fit and sleek design.

After a lot of R&D, Vegware created the first compostable container for hot soup or frosty ice cream, as well as pasta salads and warming stews. It is made from sturdy sustainably-sourced board, lined with low-carbon plant-based PLA. They are crisp and white, with 'completely compostable' printed by the seam.

Vegware's bagasse tableware range is made from the dry fibrous residue left once sugarcane has been pressed for juice. As with our takeaway boxes, these plates and bowls are pressed into shape in a high-heat, high-pressure process.

Our compostable hinged takeaway boxes are made from bagasse, recycled sugarcane which contains 99% less embodied carbon than polystyrene. They are made in a high-heat, high-pressure process. They come in a range of sizes and are great for hot, wet or oily foods as well as being sturdy and economic.

We have now added two sizes of windowed salad boxes to our range of completely compostable packaging. They are made of sturdy kraft board with a grease resistant, water-based lining and a compostable plant-based PLA window.

Beware of imitations! Many similar-looking hot food cartons have a natural kraft finish, though in fact have a plastic lining and therefore are not compostable. We offer the full eco version - sustainably sourced paper board with a water-based coating, made up with leak-proof webbed corners and fold-in flaps to give a secure closure.

Our glassine bag is another Vegware first - the first compostable window bag for hot cabinets. Most bags like this would use a flexible plastic window which is tricky to recycle. But we have used NatureFlex, a home-compostable clear film made of wood pulp. Available in two sizes, our glassine bags offer great hot cabinet visibility for paninis, pasties and hot wraps.
