Bypass level indicator

Bypass level indicator

Description
The bypass level indicator model BNA consists of a bypass chamber, which, as a communicating tube, is connected laterally to a vessel via at least 2 process connections (flanged, threaded or welded). Through this type of arrangement, the level in the bypass chamber corresponds to the level in the vessel. The float with a built-in permanent magnetic system, which is mounted within the bypass chamber, transmits the liquid level, contact-free, to the magnetic display mounted to the outside of the bypass chamber. In this are fitted, at 10 mm intervals, two-coloured plastic rollers or stainless steel flaps with bar magnets.

Through the magnetic field of the permanent magnetic system in the float, the display elements, through the wall of the bypass chamber, are turned through 180°. For an increasing level from white to red; for a falling level from red to white.

Thus the bypass level indicator clearly displays the level of a vessel without power supply

Dead-weight tester

Dead-weight tester

Description:
Proven primary standard
Pressure balances (dead-weight testers) are the most accurate instruments available on the market for the calibration of electronic or mechanical pressure measuring instruments. The direct measurement of the pressure (p = F/A), as well as the use of high-quality materials enable a very small measurement uncertainty, in conjunction with an excellent long-term stability. The pressure balance (dead-weight tester) has therefore been used for years in factory and calibration laboratories in industry, national institutes and research laboratories.

Stand-alone operation:
Due to its integrated pressure generation and the pure mechanical measuring principle, the model CPB3800 is ideal for on-site use for maintenance and service.

Basic principle:
Pressure is defined as the quotient of force and area. The core component of the CPB3800 is therefore a very precisely-manufactured piston-cylinder system, which is loaded with masses in order to generate the individual test points.

The masses applied are proportional to the target pressure and this is achieved through optimally graduated masses. As standard, these masses are manufactured to the standard gravity (9.80665 m/s²), though they can be adjusted to a specific location and also UKAS calibrated.

Suitable for liquid, gas and steam flow measurement
Optimum solution for measuring the flow of steam
Accuracy ≤ ±0.1 % of actual flow rate
Repeatability of measurement 0.1 %
Ensure the lowest pressure loss in the family of differential pressure transmitters

Description:
The design of the flow nozzle is based on Bernoulli's equation and consists of a convergent section with a rounded profile and a cylindrical throat. Due to its rigidity the flow nozzle is dimensionally more stable at higher temperature and flow rate than an orifice.
The flow nozzle is generally used for measuring the flow of steam as well as non-viscous, erosive and high-velocity fluids. They can be used in a wide variety of applications that include steam, air, water, vapour, gas, chemical substances and high temperatures. For applications with erosive fluids a hardened internal surface is available.

The design and manufacture of the flow nozzles complies with the requirements of ISO 5167. Thus an accuracy of ±1.0 % is ensured. By means of a calibration a higher accuracy of up to ±0.25 % can be achieved.

For acceptance tests of power plants, flow nozzles to ASME PTC-6 are also available.
Venturi tube

Venturi tube

Applications of the Venturi tube:
Power generation

Water treatment and distribution
Gas processing and transmission
Chemical and petrochemical industry

Special Features of the Venturi tube:
Suitable for liquid, gas and steam flow measurement
Accuracy ≤ ±0.5 % of actual flow rate
Repeatability of measurement 0.1 %
Ensure the lowest pressure loss in the family of primary flow elements
Calibration may be performed if required

Description of the Venturi tube:
A Venturi tube is a reliable and easily-managed and maintained instrument that can measure a wide range of clean liquids and gases.

The main advantage of a Venturi tube over other differential pressure flow measuring instruments is the higher pressure recovery and the lower upstream and downstream straight pipe length requirements.
The Venturi tube consists of a gradually decreasing nozzle, through which the fluid in a pipe is accelerated, followed by a gradually increasing diffuser section. The diffuser section allows the fluid to nearly regain its original pressure.

Due to the fact that a major part of the output pressure is regained, the Venturi tube is particularly suited for the measurement of flow rates in systems with a low pressure differential. Thanks to the low pressure loss the cost of pumping the fluid can be reduced to a minimum.
Meter run

Meter run

Applications:
Power generation
Oil production and refining
Water treatment and distribution
Gas processing and transmission
Chemical and petrochemical industry

Special Features:
Maximum operating temperature up to 800 °C
Maximum operating pressure up to 400 bar
Suitable for liquid, gas and steam flow measurement
Accuracy ≤ ±1.0 % of actual flow rate
Repeatability of measurement 0.1 %

Description:
Differential pressure flow meters are used in many industrial applications. If a high measuring accuracy is requested, the best solution for primary elements is a meter run.

A meter run is an assembly consisting of an orifice plate with flanges and calibrated upstream and downstream pipes. Since the meter run is manufactured as one unit, it is possible to optimally match all components with each other. Thusany faults that might lead to measuring inaccuracies can be avoided.

Standards use the term “meter run” only for small pipe diameters up to 1 ½". For larger pipe diameters starting from 2" the model FLC-MR-SP is the appropriate solution.

Irrespective of the size, the type of installation and tapping point or the different transmitter connections, our portfolio offers the optimal solution for each application.
Pitot tube

Pitot tube

Applications:
Oil production and refining
Water treatment and distribution
Gas processing and transmission
Chemical and petrochemical industry

Special Features:
Suitable for liquid, gas and steam flow measurement
Accuracy ≤ ±2 % of actual flow rate
Repeatability of measurement 0.1 %
Ensure the lowest pressure loss in the family of primary flow elements (approx. < 1 %)

Description:
FloTec is a multiport self-averaging flow meter with a design based on the classical pitot tube concept. This pitot tube produces an averaged differential pressure proportional to the square of the flow rate.

The differential pressure output of the flow meter is normally connected to a differential pressure transmitter in order to generate an electrical signal from the differential pressure. This electrical signal is proportional to the flow rate.

A differential pressure gauge or a differential pressure switch can be used to provide local indication of the flow rate or for switching tasks.

The pitot tube is suitable for the measurement of one-phase fluids which completely fill the cross-section of the pipe.
Digital temperature transmitter with HART® protocol

Digital temperature transmitter with HART® protocol

Applications:
Process industry
Machine building and plant construction

Description:
These temperature transmitters are designed for universal use in the process industry. They offer high accuracy, galvanic isolation and excellent protection against electromagnetic influences (EMI). Via HART® protocol, the T32 temperature transmitters are configurable (interoperable) with a variety of open configuration tools. In addition to the different sensor types, e.g. sensors in accordance with DIN EN 60751, JIS C1606, DIN 43760, IEC 60584 or DIN 43710, customer-specific sensor characteristics can also be defined, through the input of value pairs (user-defined linearisation).

Through the configuration of a sensor with redundancy (dual sensor), on a sensor failure it will automatically change over to the working sensor.

Furthermore, there is the possibility to activate sensor drift detection. With this, an error signalling occurs when the magnitude of the temperature difference between sensor 1 and sensor 2 exceeds a user-selectable value.
The T32 transmitters also have additional sophisticated supervisory functionality such as monitoring of the sensor wire resistance and sensor-break detection in accordance with NAMUR NE89 as well as monitoring of the measuring range. Moreover, these transmitters have comprehensive cyclic self-monitoring functionality.

The dimensions of the head-mounted transmitter match the form B DIN connecting heads with extended mounting space, e.g. WIKA model BSS.

The rail-mounted transmitters are suitable for use in all standard rail systems in accordance with IEC 60715.
The transmitters are delivered with a basic configuration or configured according to customer specifications.
Thermowell with flange (solid-machined)

Thermowell with flange (solid-machined)

Applications:
Petrochemical industry, on-/offshore, plant construction
For high process loads

Description:
Each thermowell is an important component of any temperature measurement point. It is used to separate the process from the surrounding area, thus protecting the environment and operating personnel and keeps aggressive media, high pressures and flow rates from the temperature sensor itself and thereby enables the thermometer to be exchanged during operation.

Based on the almost limitless application possibilities, there are a large number of variants, such as thermowell designs or materials. The type of process connection and the basic method of manufacture are important design differentiation criteria. A basic differentiation can be made between threaded and weld-in thermowells, and those with flange connections.

Furthermore, one can differentiate between fabricated and solid-machined thermowells. Fabricated thermowells are constructed from a tube, that is closed at the tip by a welded solid tip. Solid-machined thermowells are manufactured from barstock.

The TW10 series of solid-machined thermowells with flange connection are suitable for use with numerous electrical and mechanical thermometers from WIKA.

Due to the heavy-duty design, these international design thermowells are the first choice for use the chemical and petrochemical industries and in plant construction.
