1 Day Emergency First Aid at Work Course

We run courses at various locations across Wiltshire including Calne, Devizes, Swindon and Westbury. We can also come to your venue, please contact us for more information.

A one day course, after successful completion candidates can perform the role of emergency first aider in the workplace for three years. Meets the requirements for the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981

Full (12 Hour) Paediatric Blended First Aid Course

One day classroom based and 6 hours study online at a time and pace to suit you. All learners must complete the e learning module prior to the face to face training day. This is downloadable when you book online. If you feel you do not have enough time to complete it before the course date we can arrange for it to be completed after the course date.
This course is suitable for those who work in an Early Years environment such as child minders, nurseries and meets the requirements for Ofsted and EYFS. After successful completion candidates are awarded a 12 hour paediatric first aid certificate which is valid for three years.

Parent, Grandparent & Guardians First Aid Courses

A two hour fun filled session learning basic first aid skills for parents, grandparents, guardians and siblings. Babies are welcome.

All courses are held at our training centre in Calne.

6 Hour Emergency Paediatric First Aid Course

One day classroom based this course is suitable for nannies, au pairs, baby sitters, nursery staff and volunteers who work with children. After successful completion candidates are awarded a 6 hour emergency paediatric first aid certificate which is valid for three years.

Basic Life Support

This short course is ideal for carers and health care professionals who need to refresh their resuscitation skills and is delivered in accordance with Resuscitation Council (UK) Guidelines. The course can also be tailored to specific work environments.

If you require qualified first aiders then candidates should attend the 3 day First Aid at Work or 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work.

COUPLES - Parent, Grandparent & Guardians First Aid Courses

A two hour fun filled session learning basic first aid skills for parents, grandparents, guardians and siblings.This is an offer for couples bookings for Parent, Grandparent & Guardians First Aid Courses. Babies are welcome

Quantity is per couple (2 people from same family) please select how many couples will be attending.

All courses are held at our training centre in Calne.

Level 2 Award Health & Safety in the Workplace

This course enables employers and employees to meet their legal obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999. It provides vital knowledge to help prevent accidents and ill health in the workplace for employees, customers and contractors.

The qualification can be tailored to meet the needs of the business and / or the individual.We will provide you with the learning material required with the most current and relevant information available.Courses can be undertaken either at your own venue or one which we can provide.

Level 2 Award in Principles of Manual Handling

Absenteeism from the workplace is often due to injuries sustained from the incorrect handling and moving of loads. This qualification may protect employers from potential litigation if an injury should occur to an employee.It provides employees with the competence, knowledge and awareness to their own safety through risk assessment and controls available.

Level 2 Award in Fire Safety & Fire Warden Training

Fire and smoke are killers and also causes loss and damage to productivity and business. Employers need to provide adequate fire safety training for their staff to comply with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

Emergency First Aid Training for School Staff

This 4 - 6 hour course is intended for those nominated by their employer to perform the role of first-aider in a school setting. It is designed for school teachers, support staff and lunchtime supervisors to be able to take control and respond to a person/child who may become ill or injured (on or off site) in a safe, prompt and effective manner. Managing time is precious for schools; this course can be tailored around your school's needs and delivered on an inset day. For a HSE compliant certificate though you will need the 6 hour course.

Level 2 Award in Safeguarding & Protecting Children & Young People (RQF)

At Wiltshire First Aid Training we believe this is an extremely important course and that it should be delivered in a classroom where learning is gained from each other through discussion and experience. Trainers for this course have a police background and possess investigative skills and abilities as well as experience working with social services and child victims of abuse.

First Aid at Work Requalification

This two day (12 hours) course is intended for those who hold a First Aid at Work certificate and need to re-qualify to continue to perform the role of first-aider in the workplace. It is designed to update first aid procedures and refresh knowledge and skills. The completion of the course will enable the individual to respond to an accident or illness and gain confidence to deal with a potential emergency situation. A current first aid certificate (or 28 days after expiry) must be held by the candidate and evidence of this will need to be shown to the trainer on the first day of the course. This course complies with the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) regulations of 1981.

Flat Stan First Aid Workshop

At Wiltshire First Aid Training we believe the introduction of first aid training to children is really important. Even knowing how to dial 999 and remain calm in an emergency is so important.

This short course allows children to interact and have fun with first aid whilst teaching them vital skills and taking the fear factor out of first aid. An article in Nursery World magazine also reported that pre-school children who undertook first aid training had significant levels of raised confidence.

If you run a preschool, holiday club, breakfast club why not book us for an hour and we can introduce basic first aid skills in a fun safe learning environment.

Annual Refresher Training

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) strongly recommend an annual refresher course for those who have attended the First Aid at Work and Emergency First Aid at Work courses. This course is ideal to keep first aiders up to date with latest protocols and the opportunity to practice and refresh their first aid skills.

The course is 3 hours duration with lots of practical exercises ensuring candidates leave the course confident that they would be able to deal with an emergency situation should one arise.

Allergy Wise - Anaphylaxis Adrenaline Auto Injector Training

Every school is likely to have at least one pupil who is severely food allergic and many schools will have more. Peanut allergy is particularly common with 1 in 70 children nationwide thought to be affected. We are encouraging an approach to managing severe allergies that can be adopted throughout your organisation, as allergic children are rarely with the first aid officer when they start to become ill, and the wrong action taken by untrained staff can be very dangerous for a child. The anaphylaxis training we offer is based on The Anaphylaxis Campaign’s RCN-accredited Allergy Wise program.

First Aid at Work Course

This three-day course meets the standards required to comply with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. After successful completion the candidate will be able to perform the role of a first-aider in the workplace.

This course also includes defibrillator awareness training.

Emergency First Aid at Work

The Emergency First Aid at Work course is a one day course which takes 6 hours to complete. It meets the standards required to comply with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. This course is the minimum requirement for a person to deal with potential casualties in the workplace. The HSE also recommend an annual refresher course which takes 3 hours to complete.

This course also includes defibrillator awareness training.

Level 3 Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health (RQF)

This is a two day course and suitable for those who have supervisory responsibilities and want the skills to support any employee with mental health related issues and guide them to the relevant professional support.

Automated External Defibrillator Training Course

When this training is complete the learner will have gained confidence and competence to administer Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) with the use of an AED to an unconscious, non-breathing casualty.

This course meets the standards required to comply with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

Sports First Aid Course

This one day (6 hour) course is ideal for anyone involved with sport whether it’s competitive such as rugby, football, hockey or a solo sport such as equestrian, cycling or dancing. The course content will cover all the basic life support skills a person is required to hold but it will also cover the treatment of sporting injuries where first aid can make a difference to the casualty’s recovery time. It is also a useful course to attend to learn how to competently assess whether a casualty should continue to take part in the activity.

Level 2 Award First Aid for Mental Health (RQF)

This is a one day course and suitable for those who want to gain a greater awareness of mental health.

Baby Sitting Course

This course will give the candidates the knowledge and confidence to baby sit the professional way. Suitable for 14 year old upwards.

Basic Life Support for Medical Professionals

We offer specialised Basic Life Support courses for medical professionals, and we have had many dentist practices take up this training recently. The General Dental Council (GDC) requires dental professionals to keep their skills and knowledge up to date through continuing professional development (CPD). This course complies fully with GDC enhanced CPD requirements and we can offer bespoke courses for either 1,2,or 3 hours.
