About us

Fork Truck Direct was formed in 1995 by Mike Dixon and Steve Culham. From modest beginnings, with a staff of 5 persons and a short term hire fleet of just 15 trucks, our business has since become the leading independent forklift hire, sales and service company in Essex, Suffolk and Suffolk.
We now employ 45+ staff and currently look after over 800 hire/rental forklifts and in excess of 2000 customer owned forklifts.
FTD’s business success has been built on the quality and value of product, supported by the most professional and efficient service support in the business.
FTD have forged a very strong partnership since 2003 as the regional dealer for Doosan forklift trucks. Our partnership, offering the world’s leading premier value brand with its renowned reliability and low maintenance costs, has helped FTD establish itself as market leaders for the supply of new and refurbished forklifts in Essex, Suffolk and East London areas.
