At H&F we have a casual hire fleet numbering over 100 trucks covering a wide range of specifications. We can supply electric, LPG or diesel counterbalance machines with lift capacities of up to 7000kg, as well as reach trucks with a variety of mast configurations. All of our trucks are inspected and maintained to our own high standards.
Whether you require a truck for 1 day, a year or on an ongoing basis, casual hire give you total flexibility. As we provide our own forklift transport we can offer a very rapid response. Forklift servicing and maintenance are all included in the price.

Forklift Finance
H&F have a close working relationship with several leading finance houses. This enables us to offer very competitive and individually tailored finance packages to our customers. The two main finance types offered to H&F customers are:
CONTRACT HIRE WITH MAINTENANCE
Contract hire is a fixed term agreement, usually between 3 and 7 years with monthly rental that include forklift maintenance, servicing and repairs. 100% of the rentals paid can be offset against taxable income. This is a one-stop solution and is widely viewed as the most hassle free, cost effective and tax efficient method of running forklifts. You can enjoy simple budgeting and just hand back the trucks at the end of the term. Agreements that qualify as ‘operating leases’ are not shown as liabilities. So they don’t adversely impact on gearing ratios within your accounts.
LEASE PURCHASE
This offers the end user eventual ownership of the equipment after spreading the cost and interest over an agreed period (normally 2 to 7 years) through fixed monthly payments. This asset is put on your balance sheet and offset ‘capital allowances’ against taxable income at a rate of 25% per annum on the reducing balance. (‘Small companies’, as defined by the DTI, can offset 40% of the equipment value in the first year). All of the interest charges can be set against taxable income. At the outset of the agreement you pay the total VAT on the equipment cost, together with any deposit. This is ‘on balance sheet’ funding so the outstanding payments are shown on your balance sheet as a liability. Maintenance and repairs are not included in the cost.

At H&F we understand how important it is to be able to move materials frequently and rapidly on site. Our clients want a reliable, seamless materials handling service which doesn’t let them down. However, sometimes the worst happens and a forklift can break down unexpectedly. Centrally controlled from our workshop, the team at H&F can swiftly respond to your breakdown to help minimize disruption to your business.
Repairs and servicing can be carried out on-site by our expert team of engineers and we have our own low loader for trucks that need to be brought back to the workshop. All makes and models of forklift and truck are handled and the service engineers can carry out all types of work from minor adjustments to major rebuilds. There is also a traction battery and charger repair service on hand if required.
We find this level of response and care provides our customers with the best forklift repair service and breakdown cover in the industry. We target a four hours max response time and in desperate circumstances where the forklift cannot be repaired we can even provide our customers with a replacement forklift whilst we get their up and running.
Furthermore, to help prevent unnecessary breakdowns we offer a regular preventative maintenance service to keep your new and used forklifts in the best working order. This can prevent costly repairs and is personalised to suit your specific vehicle’s use and application. We can also arrange for regular, accredited thorough examinations of your fleet to satisfy LOLER regulations and HSE requirements.
