A green solution that can support wildlife, improve insulation and add extra colour to your garden. Our green roofing solutions include sedum kits for pitched and flat roofs as well as Meadowmat Wildflower Turf, feed and substrate products.
Harrowden Turf Ltd has its head office in Kettering with farms and depots located in Thetford, Norfolk, Southport and Warrington. We offer nationwide delivery for turf, wildflower turf, turf products and sedum matting.
We have over 50 years' experience in the design and distribution of high quality turf and landscaping solutions that have been utilised across a wide variety of applications.
Harrowden Turf is grown on dark, organic, free-draining soils, the best soil type for the production of high quality turf. These soils contain high populations of beneficial microbes and it is this that gives the turf its dark green sward. We are the UK's best known turf supplier and have worked with thousands of customers across the country to provide high-end landscaping solutions that are available to view online.
A turf is a piece of soil with a mixture of selected grass varieties growing in it. It will be harvested to order, ensuring optimum freshness; Harrowden Turf is sliced from the ground and as with any turf will suffer if not cared for. Water is essential in the early stages of growing; your lawn will need some careful nurturing until it has established. We offer an extensive amount of knowledge on winter lawn care, summer lawn care, spring lawn care and autumn lawn care, as well as common lawn problems and caring for brand new turf.
It should be remembered that a lawn is constantly in a state of change, responding to many external influences such as the weather, soil conditions, mowing, watering, feeding and any other local environmental factors.
Brands Include:
Enviromat - Enviromat is a living carpet of sedum plants that can be installed to any surface where you require a low maintenance and beautiful looking flower garden
Meadowmat - MeadowMat is a unique wild flower matting system used by many landscapers requiring an established, natural, wild flower meadow
Turf Online - an online sales website for high quality turf and landscaping solutions
We also offer a wide range of turf-related products such as fertilisers, turf feed, lawn grass seed, top soil, top dressing, bark and watering solutions. We consider multiple factors when manufacturing and distributing our lawncare methods including visual merit, durability, shade tolerance, close mowing, fineness of leaf, shoot recovery, disease resistance, winter greenness, summer greenness and ease of maintenance.

Is your lawn on a diet? Here’s some food for thought. Plants and humans have a lot in common - we all require oxygen, water and food (and we all benefit from an occasional haircut too!). However, there’s a fundamental difference in the way we enjoy our food, one that’s worth thinking about if you want to avoid putting your lawn on an unintentional starvation diet.

Summer lawn care: feeding Spring and summer 2012 has seen record highs for rainfall across the UK and as a result lawns are looking beautifully lush and verdant; but don’t be deceived. Under the surface, at soil level it’s quite likely that plant nutrients have been washed away; the store cupboards are empty and that means that although our lawns look good right now, there may be trouble ahead.

Very happy with Turfonline. The delivery was within 2 days of placing the order and the delivery guy was very knowledgeable of the sedum mats and advised on keeping the sedum fully watered before putting it on our workshop roof. Easy to install directly onto membrane roof, even had a bit left over to put on our flower stall roof.Highly recommend Turfonline for sedum matting.
