About us

Birmingham based Hazard Safety Products Ltd has been behind the development of cutting edge safety products with over 35 years experience in doing so.

It all started in 1972 when head of Hazard, Beverley Ward, thought of the advantages a rubber speed bump would have. Before then asphalt and concrete speed bumps were most widely used, but had their downsides. They were prone to a certain unevenness that could have ended up causing damage to vehicles. But then Beverley emerged with her ideas for more effective, rubber “Speed Bumps”, which became the perfect solution regarding speed restriction. It promised greater durability and no damage to vehicles. Her new product impressed the BBC and was featured in their television programme Tomorrow’s World.
