Control of Substance Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Risk Assessments - where a large number of hazardous materials are handled we can carry out hazard or control banding to reduce the number of COSHH risk assessments, making it easier for training of staff. We can also assist in Design of LEV systems, personal exposure measurement, identification of appropriate technical controls and PPE as well as Face Fit Testing of RPE and COSHH training.

"A Company was fined £800,000 in 2016 after three of its workers developed Extrinsic Allergic Alveolitis (EEA) caused when workers inhaled microbe contaminated metal working fluid mist. Inhalation of these microbes can cause the small air sacs within the lungs (alveoli) to become inflamed in an allergic reaction. Symptoms include: coughing, shortness of breath and joint pain and can lead to long term illness.

Real time dust/fumes monitoring
Adsorption or passive sampling for vapour and gases
We can also carry out COSHH risk assessments, advise on suitable controls and process improvements to reduce exposure as well as training your staff.
Noise Surveys

Noise Surveys

The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 states, “An employer who carries out work which is liable to expose any employees to noise at or above a lower exposure action value shall make a suitable and sufficient assessment of the risk from that noise...and identify the measures which need to be taken to meet the requirements of these Regulations.
Lighting Surveys

Lighting Surveys

We provide lighting surveys to assist you in complying with The workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 specify that,
“Every workplace shall have suitable and sufficient lighting suitable…and sufficient emergency lighting shall be provided in any room in circumstances in which persons at work are specially exposed to danger in the event of failure of artificial lighting.

Vibration Measurement

Qualitek Safety carry out vibration measurements (in accordance with BS EN ISO 5349-2:2002) and vibration risk assessments to assist you in ensuring that workers are not exposed to levels of vibration that can give rise to Hand Arm Vibration syndrome (HAV’s).
Real life vibration measurements can often be significantly different to manufacturers' quoted values so we can measure vibration using tri-axial vibration levels and (using tool timers) obtain real trigger times to give accurate vibration risk assessments.
We can also assist by carrying out HAV’s Health surveillance to assist you in safe guarding your staff as well as ensuring legal compliance with the Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005.
