Priorclave Ltd specialises in every aspect of autoclaves, from design and production to installation and maintenance. Established in 1988, Priorclave has evolved into one of the leading designers and manufacturers in the UK, focusing on low-pressure laboratory steam autoclaves. These autoclaves are utilised across various industries, including food, beverage, dairy, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals.
Priorclaves' range extends from smaller, bench top autoclaves, to larger floor standing autoclaves and top & front loading autoclaves in circular and rectangular formats, with loading capacities from 40L – 700L and above.
For the smaller laboratory with a requirement for autoclaving in-house on a tight budget, an entry-level range has been introduced to perform media preparation and waste sterilising, without unnecessary expenditure on additional functions and control systems often fitted as standard on many of todays' autoclaves.
Our Autoclaves Ranges Include:
Top-Loading
Our top-selling product globally! Vertical autoclaves offer unmatched versatility, accommodating tall flasks, fermentors, and bioreactors at a fraction of the cost of front-loading alternatives. Priorclave's top-loading autoclaves stand out as some of the most compact full-size units available today. Compared to similarly-sized medical-grade rectangular vessel units, cylindrical autoclaves offer easier operation, lower maintenance costs, and greater reliability over an extended lifespan.
Front-Loading
For research, education, and quality assurance facilities, a front-loading autoclave with a traditional cylindrical vessel stands out as the optimal choice. The cylindrical chamber is adept at handling high-pressure micro-environments, requiring less reinforcement and insulation while enduring less wear and tear over its lifespan. Each of our front-loading autoclaves is custom-built to your exact specifications, including temperature and pressure levels, as well as chamber size. With a lower parts count, efficient steam generation, lean cylindrical pressure vessel, and application-specific construction, these autoclaves not only offer a reduced purchase price but also ensure a more reliable performance with significantly lower ownership, operational, and maintenance costs.
Benchtop
Being small doesn't mean being insignificant or easily dominated. Priorclave's benchtop autoclaves embody the performance and robust construction of full-size industrial autoclaves, yet fit seamlessly into any workspace. A high-quality benchtop autoclave designed for research provides the flexibility, user-friendliness, and reliability essential for small laboratories. Our compact tabletop units offer effortless plug-and-play operation while boasting fully equipped programmable control systems. Ideal for tasks such as media preparation, liquid sterilisation, and waste treatment, they are well-suited for shared facilities and educational environments.
Rectangular
A front-loading autoclave with a rectangular chamber stands as the prime choice for high-throughput research, educational, industrial, and quality assurance facilities. Each of our front-loading autoclaves is meticulously tailored to your exact specifications at our London factory. We prioritise customisation, meaning your autoclave will only include features necessary for your specific needs. Whether you require enhanced cooling, filtration, monitoring, or other features, they will be incorporated as needed. This application-specific approach not only reduces the purchase price by eliminating unnecessary features but also ensures a more dependable autoclave with significantly lower ownership, operational, and maintenance costs.
Double-Door / Pass-Through
Pass-through autoclaves maintain sealed laboratory environments, with door interlocks ensuring laboratory standards remain uncompromised. Each double-door autoclave establishes a sterile pathway into and out of sealed laboratories. While double-door autoclaves were once uncommon, recent years have witnessed widespread adoption of "clean room" high-containment practices across various industries, from biomedical research to semiconductor fabrication. While some laboratory autoclave manufacturers are new to this field, Priorclave has been a longstanding presence. We offer a range of flexible pass-through options equipped with sophisticated containment and safety features typically found in units twice their price. Our pass-through autoclaves find application in universities, mobile military facilities, BSL-3 containment suites, and research labs focused on West Nile and avian flu, pharmaceuticals, entomology, industrial product development, and more.
Power Door
Rectangular chambered front-loading autoclaves with powered vertical sliding doors often present the ideal solution when space is limited but high-volume or high-throughput operations are essential. Each of our front-loading autoclaves is meticulously tailored to your specifications at our London facility. We prioritise customisation, meaning your autoclave will only include features necessary for your specific requirements. If you do not require a steam jacket or exhaust filtration, they will not be included. Conversely, if enhanced cooling, monitoring, or other features are needed, they will be integrated accordingly. Far from being an unnecessary indulgence, a customised autoclave is typically a cost-effective choice: By eliminating unnecessary features, it not only reduces the initial purchase price but also ensures a more dependable autoclave with significantly lower overall ownership, operational, and maintenance costs.
Horizontal
Horizontal autoclaves are widely favoured across various industries, including medical, industrial, research, and education, due to their versatility. While many of these steriliser units feature rectangular pressure vessels, these vessels are optimal for sterilising flat trays of surgical instruments. However, for tasks such as preparing growth media, processing waste loads, or testing materials, a rectangular vessel can quickly become cumbersome. Priorclave horizontal autoclaves, on the other hand, utilise cylindrical vessels, which offer several advantages. With approximately half the number of moving parts compared to competing rectangular units, Priorclave designs prioritise easily accessible non-proprietary components whenever feasible. This approach minimises both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, resulting in quicker, less disruptive, and less expensive service calls. By prioritising maintenance reduction, energy and water efficiency, and a user-friendly control system, Priorclave effectively lowers the total operating cost of its horizontal autoclaves.
Large Capacity
In the realm of industrial sterilisation, a "large autoclave" typically refers to devices with a chamber diameter of 26 inches or larger, offering enough space for an average person to enter without feeling confined. Although Priorclave manufactures large custom units at their UK facility, shipping them overseas is currently not cost-effective. If you're seeking autoclaves sizable enough to park a car in, you'll need to explore alternative options, and we're here to assist you in finding the right solution.
Special Order & Custom
The surest way to ensure that your lab autoclave meets your specific requirements is to have it custom-built. At Priorclave, each autoclave project commences with a detailed discussion. Our team thoroughly assesses your sterilisation needs, guiding you through the selection process to determine the ideal configuration of the most suitable model for your tasks, facilities, and specifications. Subsequently, the autoclave is meticulously handcrafted, from inception to completion, at our London factory.
