As a UKAS-accredited company, we are equipped to conduct air testing for all building types specified in Building Regulations L1 & L2 and provide sound testing to meet the standards outlined in Building Regulations Part 'E'.

Acoustic Testing
Ryedale Testing offers Pre-Completion Testing to ensure compliance with Building Regulations Schedule 1 Part E and Approved Document ‘E’. This testing evaluates the sound insulation of separating elements like walls and floors to confirm they meet the required standards.
Air Tightness Testing
Ryedale Testing offers a prompt, precise, and comprehensive service with all functions handled in-house. As an ATTMA member, we utilise top-quality UKAS-calibrated instruments. Since April 2006, Part L of the Building Regulations has mandated that new domestic dwellings, with few exceptions, must achieve an air tightness of at least 10m³/(h.m²)@ 50 Pascals to support the reduction of greenhouse gases and energy waste.
Architectural Services
We provide a comprehensive range of architect’s services, including initial and detailed designs, planning and building regulation applications, specifications, tender preparation, and inspection of works in progress.
Extract Fan Testing
We provide extract fan testing, either alongside air tightness testing or as a standalone service. Building Control Bodies, including NHBC, now require commissioning data for extract fans to demonstrate compliance with Building Regulations Approved Document ‘F’ and the Domestic Ventilation Compliance Guide. This involves air flow measurement tests using UKAS-calibrated equipment. As buildings become more airtight due to legislation, effective mechanical or passive ventilation becomes crucial for maintaining a healthy environment, ensuring adequate fresh air, and reducing heat losses.
SAPs & EPCs
New dwellings, or those created through conversion or change of use, must undergo SAP (Standard Assessment Procedure) Calculations to assess their energy performance. This requirement, part of Building Regulations Part L, aligns with EU guidelines. Ryedale Testing offers SAP calculations for Building Control submissions using accredited Elmhurst Energy software, providing competitive pricing.
