Side panels and bench seating can be added as required and various floor options are available for our timber gazebos including, raised and flush decking.

Outdoor Classrooms
If you’re looking to take lessons outside the classroom, you’re sure to find exactly what you’re looking for at Setter Play! Outdoor classrooms boost engagement, making lessons more enjoyable for students and teachers.
Lessons indoors are often seen to be tedious and repetitive which leaves children looking for distractions to keep themselves occupied. By taking lessons outside, students can learn in a way that’s creative and interesting.
Our outdoor equipment uses space effectively and assists with the development of all young individuals, providing them with ample opportunity to broaden their knowledge and understanding. When choosing to take lessons outdoors, you need to bear in mind the surroundings. The right outdoor classroom can promote sustainable development and suit the aesthetics of your school.
Make sure that you design your classroom carefully, accommodating for any equipment that will come in useful. Drawing a plan will allow you to decide where equipment can be installed without compromising safety or accessibility.
Another factor to consider when creating an outdoor classroom is how easy it is to keep students interested and engaged. Outdoor learning can prevent distractions, essentially boosting the concentration of young individuals.

Bike & Buggy Shelters & Utility Buildings
As an antidote to the ubiquitous steel bike shelters that are seen in many environments, Setter Play is now able to offer desirable aesthetic solutions by using gracefully curved timber. The robust Douglas Fir has undergone pressure treatment, meaning that durability and low maintenance comes as standard with any of our buggy shelters.

Bespoke Canopies
You cannot go wrong with bespoke canopies from Setter Play! We supply School Canopies to suit the most diverse demands, so be sure to discuss your needs in detail with our team of experts today!

Shade Sail
High-tensile shade sails are rated for maximum expected snow- and wind-loads, so that they can stay up all year, without the risk of ripping or your teachers running out into a storm to take them down!

Activity Trails
Activity Trails are a classic play area feature; they provide a huge range of different activities that challenge your balance, grip-and-grasp, agility, and strength amongst others, and it’s this varying challenge that keeps them fresh and exciting.
Our trail range features all of the activity trail classics, and we have formulated three set activity trails, each rising in size and length, to give you an easy-to-visualise spread of our activity trail equipment.
We also offer a range of innovative trail options, designed to turn the traditional equipment on it’s head; our Tree-Tops Trail is a firm favourite, and incorporates a jungle theme and rock holds to create a very different trail.

Dinosaur Nest
Dinosaur Nest is our medium-sized free-form climber, with the perimeter logs of the triangular-shaped climber measuring around 4.5m in length.
The unit features shimmy ropes around the top level to challenge your pupils to complete the course and improve their fine-motor skills and core strength, whilst the tangled logs section in the centre encouraging three-dimensional exploration of the space.
A spiders’ web net adds an interesting climbing activity that also sparks the imagination, whilst the ‘nest’ net at the base of the unit adds a crawling and clambering activity that also provides a base for adventures.

Itsy Bitsy
Itsy Bitsy is the smallest climber in the Freeform range, aimed towards EYFS pupils. Inspired by the popular nursery rhyme, the activities emanate out from the spiders’ web net, which provides a catalyst for imagination-play games whilst also inviting your pupils to challenge their motor-skill strength on the interesting climbing activity.
The 3.5m sides feature a circuit of shimmy- and drop-ropes challenge grip-and-grasp as well as core strength, whilst a scramble net leads up onto the central tangled logs section.

Twig Hill
Since designing Twig Hill in 2017 it has become one of our most popular climbing frames, with school’s loving it’s expansive size and play value, development benefits it presents for their pupils, and the ability to customise the activities and the colours.
Twig Hill features tangled log and rope ladders leading up to a 1.5m-high play deck, which is also accessible via a climbing wall and scramble net. From there you can customise your climber with more tangled logs, circuits of trail equipment, challenging overhead activities – or anything else you might want for your outdoor spaces!
“Working with Setter Play, to produce their first edition of ‘Twig Hill’, was the best decision we have made for our outdoor provision in a long time. The children absolutely love climbing and swinging, and never a day goes by without it being in full use. Finding the money for the rubber mulch flooring was key to getting all year round use but we were so glad we did. I have been amazed at the enduring pull that Twig Hill has for the children and the inventive ways in which they use it. We couldn’t be happier with our climbing apparatus and with Setter for their guidance and support.” – Mrs. Smith, head of pre prep at St. Faith’s School in Cambridge

Double Dinosaur Nest
Double Dinosaur Nest smashes together two of our much loved Dinosaur Nest climbers to provide double the free-form adventure. An engaging tangled log section through the middle of the space promotes three-dimensional exploration and development of gross-motor skills, whilst the perimeter of shimmy ropes aid in hand-eye co-ordination and core strength development.

Huckleberry
Huckleberry is a unit for key stage 1 children, providing developmental challenges within a compact and attractive design. The unit is derived from our Klunk design, but adapted to fit into the Elements range by the use of tactile and attractive treated timber throughout.
The overhead ladder is still pivotal in the range of activities on Huckleberry as it provides a rarely encountered challenge; that of taking one’s own body weight through the arms. The challenge develops grip strength, shoulder and upper body strength and core strength. Even if the child is only able to dangle from one rung initially the benefit is unique amongst physical activities. The desire to cross the overhead ladder is a strong one and so this engaging challenge is particularly enduring on Huckleberry.

Jellywood
Jellywood, naturally, is our Elemental version of Jellystone. It features the same activities but it is produced in natural materials and sympathetic colours to harmonise with the theme.
Colourful rope work and steel work are available for this unit as sometimes a splash of colour is just enough to brighten an area up. Decks are set at 900mm and 1200mm but can be altered to 1.5M if you’d like to customise the unit and provide your pupils with more of a challenge.. Slides are produced in stainless steel or alternatively HDPE which creates a substantial cost saving.

Fair Bear
Fair Bear is a single tower unit based on the popular Square Bear. The unit has been redesigned with tactile treated timber throughout to sit comfortably in the Elemental range. The standard option includes a deck at 900mm, although of course as a specialist bespoke play company we can raise the height to 1200mm, to suit children in the upper ranges of Key Stage 1 and provide more of a challenge.
Standard activities on the Fair Bear include a vertical ladder, scramble net, and a ramp or rope, with a slide or fireman’s pole available as the options for dismounting the tower. You can of course swap these standard activities out for any others that we offer, to customise the Fair Bear and make it yours.
Affordable and attractive, nurseries and early years groups love the Fair Bear!

Lumberjack
Lumberjack is a giant climbing unit in the style of Hambridge, but based on Crackerjack, the popular multi age group climber from the fundamental range. Lumberjack has been designed to be a key example of how the Elemental range provides enormous play value at surprising prices.
The unit is 85% timber meaning it is priced sensibly and also has a very low carbon footprint, as well as looking elegant and natural. It provides a play feature that, in any other material, would dominate an area, however the materials and skeletal design mean that this large structure fits in without being an eyesore.
The activities vary massively across the four decks of the Lumberjack; more accessible lower level activities lead to the lower decks, with challenging rope bridges linking up to the higher decks. These decks are also accessible through more challenging means, like a large rope traverse, and there is a a exciting fireman’s pole down from the tallest deck.

Bespoke Playground Equipment
Are you looking to create an area that offers excitement like no other?
At Setter Play, we create bespoke wooden playground equipment that allows children to explore ways in which they can use their imagination. Our bespoke range of playground equipment is suitable for children of different ages.
We allow you to have complete control of the design process, from start to finish. You design your playground equipment and we create it for you! You have so much choice when it comes to bespoke wooden playground equipment, we can design your equipment to follow your preferred colour scheme or style. We ensure that your new play area offers aptness for the surrounding locations so your new playground equipment doesn’t look out of place.

Click
Click is a two tower play unit for the under six age group, with platforms at 900mm.
Click is more conventional than Klunk as the two towers are linked by a suspension bridge. In response to worries of unwelcome “visitors” congregating under the shelter of play unit roofs out of school hours, Click has roof frames that provide the stimulus for imagination without the need for literal roof coverings. This roof design is available on any of the towers across the Setter range.
The standard activities on Click are simple steps, vertical ladder, scramble net, and rope, although you can of course customise your climbing frame with any of our wide range of climbing activities. A slide is not standard on Click but can be added as an option, and you can of course choose the colours of the ropework, metalwork, and panels, to make it truly unique to your school.

Crackerjack
Crackerjack is a large multi play unit that engages children of a wide age range. Occupying 75m2 of space, and with a wide multitude of physically challenging activities, the Crackerjack is the perfect centrepiece to a playground or play scheme. The durable HDPE panels combine with the timber uprights to make an exciting and inviting climber, and shop/activity panels can be fitted beneath the taller decks to provide an imagination play aspect to the climber and create a more rounded play experience.
Decks are set at 900mm, 1200mm and 1500mm, and each deck is fitted with activities to suit a particular age group, to provide a steady progression in difficulty and excitement as pupils grow older.
The 900mm deck has simple steps and a barrel climber which leads via a crawl tunnel to the 1200mm deck. This has a scramble net and chunky rung rope ladder. A suspension bridge leads to the first of the two 1.5M decks which feature the hardest activities designed to suit the older age group. There is a rock climbing panel and steep ramp and rope to the first 1.5M deck which connects to the second 1.5M deck via a challenging rope traverse. The ‘reward’ at the second 1.5M deck is to slide down the fireman’s pole or descend via the vertical ladder.

Jellystone
Jellystone is a three tower play unit which is a combines the towers of Skylark and Zoiks by linking them together with challenging physical activities. The triangular 900mm platform is accessible by chunky rungs or a cargo net, which then lead you to the overhead ladder. The ladder is ideal for both physical development, as it assists with core strength and grip and grasp, and mental development, as it takes often takes persistence and courage to make it the whole way across.
Once across to another 900mm deck, there are more climbing activities, as well as a step up to the first 1200 platform. This is connected to another 1200mm deck, which features a challenging cargo net, as well as a stainless steel slide as the route of descent.
The Jellystone is designed so as to provide a lot of play value in a relatively small configuration, and requires 65m2 of safety surfacing.

Shipwreck
We’re really proud of this one! Check out the Shipwreck, a brand new and bespoke climbing frame.

Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA)
Multi-use Games Areas provide primary schools with an all-weather sports pitch that can be used all year round to promote health and fitness amongst younger years.
Markings can be provided for netball, basketball, 5-a-side football, as well as additional markings for sports like Cricket or Track and Field. Artificial grass provides a reliable year-round surface and rebound fencing can be 1, 2 or 3m tall to help contain errant balls.
