Enormous play project completed in Oxfordshire

SS Philip and James Primary School chose Setter Play to completely redevelop their grounds, and we were hugely grateful to be selected for such a transformative, expansive and exciting playground project
The centrepiece to our proposals was this lovely castle climbing frame, complete with new safety imagination-play safety surfacing.At the far end of their playground they also had a more challenging climber for their KS2 pupils, with ‘Onyx’ challenging fine- and gross motor skill development as well as balance and co-ordination.
We also installed an Outdoor Gym beside their MUGA, with rubber mulch surfacing throughout to provide all-weather access
The outdoor gym space also included a tyre park, as requested specifically by the school
A sensory garden boosts inclusivity in the space, with a wide variety of colours and textures providing a space for discovery, teamwork and creativity.
A storytime corner on artificial grass provides a quiet space to be enjoyed during breaktimes and lessons, with rubber mushroom toadstool seats and a soft surface for more friends or a class to sit around and listen to stories.
Another centrepiece to our proposal was this bespoke outdoor classroom, which has full-height panels to all sides, a lockable door, and an internal whiteboard. We also connected a new electricity supply to the structure, with all-weather outdoor plugs.
Along the rear of their grounds we installed an enormous adventure trail which winds through the trees. Also visible is the huge all-weather running track which we installed in enviropave, which is a mix of rubber and pebbles to create an all-weather hard standing surface. This running track runs the entire perimeter of their grounds!
The project was finished with a free-form and creative-play section, complete with various structures to build different dens with every break time.
This was one of the largest projects Setter Play has ever delivered, and everybody in the company got involved at some point to deliver such a huge scheme. We are hugely proud of our work!
