I have had the pleasure of using Setter Play on many occasions in the last 5 years and have been delighted with the outcomes.Each project was carefully planned and Jonathan really listens to what you want and helps you to decide on the best for the children and the best value for the school.All the apparatus purchased was of a high quality and looks as good today as the day it was installed.The summer house we purchased also is high quality but at a reasonable price.The planning for the installation each time has been exemplary.Contractors kept to the timescale, were pleasant throughout the time on site and the work was carried out to high standard and in record time.It was a pleasure to do business with Setters and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

We would just like to say thank you for installing our climbing frame during the Half term break. The children are loving it and it has been great to see the children already gaining in confidence as they challenge themselves on the monkey bars. Some children who were very nervous at the beginning are going back time and time again to have another try. So we are hoping to see great improvements in their confidence, perseverance as well as their physical skills!Many thanks once again.
Setter provided three alternative designs and these were presented to a whole school assembly, each class then voted for their favourite and the top ranking design was then commissioned. The Equipment was installed in three phases to accommodate funding limitations.
From start to finish it was a pleasure to do business with Setter. We are all, especially the children, delighted with our new outdoor classroom. The construction crew were exceptional. They worked so hard in unbelievably horrendous weather, far from home and were never seen without a smile!
We have used Setter for a number of projects now and have always been very satisfied.
Setter Play could not have done more for us as a school. Right from the initial visit from them, we instantly knew that they were the company that we wished to carry out the work. Aleks designed us a fantastic climbing frame bespoke to our needs, and he was more than accommodating to add or change anything once the first design had been completed. We were on a tight time frame and Setter Play worked alongside us at all times to ensure that the climbing frame was ready in time for our grand opening! The team at Setter play are always available to contact if you have any questions, no matter how small. Josh and Lewis were fantastic on site they minimised any disturbance to the school and children, and they worked alongside our school day timings. They were fantastic with the children, and they were happy to answer their many questions, or show them their different tools and processes. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to other schools. A thoroughly enjoyable experience for all involved especially the children, who loved watching Josh and Lewis build the frame. A great week of learning opportunities! The children have loved their new frame over the last few weeks, and I am sure that they will be counting down the days over the holiday until school starts again, so that they can have another go! We were really pleased to find a local family business to supply our play equipment. After we had received our quotes we also heard of another local school who also used Setters for their play equipment and there were lots of positive comments from parents so we knew we had chosen right. Installation of the equipment went exactly to plan and the gentlemen worked very hard. Since installation our children have absolutely loved playing on our play structure. We would definitely recommend them 100%.
We were very impressed with Setter Play throughout. The only hurdles we faced were due to weather constraints which were dealt with well. We have recommended Setter to other people already and would definitely use again.
From a school point of view we have been very happy with the Jellywood, children of all ages have been playing on it and it provides challenge and open ended opportunities. It has with stood the wear and tear of a 100 plus children playing on it and the safety surface is fantastic.
I have been through your feedback form and we have given 10 (out of 10) for every question. Extremely pleased with product especially coming back to fix the slight problem (a fault with a component from one of our suppliers!) before the school started. The children are loving it!

Setter Play are an excellent company. They are incredibly professional and listen very well. Aleks is very aware of the time pressures headteachers are under and will talk to you about your requirements but certainly not waste time. Aleks was precise in terms of ensuring that the works met our expectations and standards. They are efficient and deliver what they say they will deliver. Our children have really benefited from the equipment they have put in at our school and the bespoke nature of the equipment means that it matches our requirements and has contributed directly to raising standards (e.g. lots of equipment to build upper body strength, grip and grasp which has positively impacted on early writing skills). I can highly recommend them for undertaking works at your school. I will also try to put down a few words although I am not sure how I can do the company and service justice! I could not recommend Setters highly enough. They have been a fantastic company to work with on an extremely large and complex long term project that we have recently completed. The advice that they have provided has been invaluable. They offered a very personal, friendly service that ensured that our project was completed efficiently and most importantly exactly how we wanted it. We have had an old disused swimming pool converted into a fantastic Multi use games area, a disused awkward hilly areas converted into an usable all weather play space. This included the installation of an outdoor classroom and a large climbing frame. Finally, this summer saw the completion of a newly installed playground and netball court into a sloping meadow. The work required careful planning and extensive excavation. Setter managed the project from start to finish and we and most importantly, the children, could not be happier with the results of the work.
I have always found the company to be very helpful in advising us of the options which may suit our needs. They are always open to personalising things to meet the school’s requirements. One such installation was our lovely Highbury House, which was specially designed for our school, to create a quiet area at playtimes. This has been much enjoyed by the children.
This project has been in the pipeline for several years and the involvement of Setter has, from the initial “what’s possible” stage through to our current installation stage the personal service we have received has been excellent. In developing our ideas of what we would like your advice and suggestions – and responses to our questions and queries of what is possible – has really helped us to develop our own ideas. You have responded to all our queries around the more specialist nature and challenges of SEN provision, and this continues now as we ‘tweak’ things that we are seeing in place/in scale for the first time.Our funding was secured very close to the summer holidays and going from “we’d love to be able to…..” to finalised plans and breaking ground in around 6/8 weeks has meant that we will get a whole extra year of use and enjoyment from the play spaces. Due to these timescales, work continues in autumn term and again, you have helped us address all the additional challenges that this brings – ensuring your contractors are up to speed and providing a very good level of oversight and management of the project.I would be happy to be contacted by any other school if they have further questions or queries.
The Setter Play team have designed and installed a fantastic community playground for Warborough Parish Council (installation: Summer 2019). We considered tenders from many companies – Setter stood out as having the most wide ranging catalogue, the most adventurous equipment whilst also producing a very very natural-looking playground, which was important to our community.Perhaps most importantly their sales and design team, lead by Aleks, was incredibly helpful and genuinely thought about our requirements and created some wonderful designs and several bespoke units for us, all with competitive pricing. They were an excellent partner in what was a 2-year project and we would not hesitate to recommend them; the village green has never been so busy and the equipment has a big thumbs up from the local children.

Last year, Setter Play provided us with an entirely new play area following a devastating fire that left our site needing a complete re-installation including groundworks, re-levelling the area, surfacing, wooden gazebo, musical instruments, activity trails and a fantastic Pirate Ship climbing frame. From start to finish, Setters were completely respectful of our school environment, and the company worked seamlessly alongside our Project Management Company involved to ensure the installation went as smoothly and quickly as possible within the confines of an area cordoned off on our playground. We found all the staff involved to be both efficient and personable and, to date, have not had any problems with any of the work or equipment, and would be pleased to recommend Setter Play to you.
The planning and installation of a large active play structure was always going to be a big step forward for Tudor Primary. A number of companies were invited to tender and, from the outset, the professional and bespoke approach from Setter Play was highly impressive. From design to completion, we were very impressed with Setter Play’s work. Their customer service was exemplary and the quality of workmanship in the final outdoor space is excellent. The children love their new outside play space.
We have worked with Setter for a number of years on several projects across the school including the development of our outdoor play area for EYFS, large pirate ship for our main playground and our latest key stage 2 project to create our outdoor classroom. From project designing, installation through to final inspection Setter were professional and extremely accommodating to our requests. On all occasions they listened carefully to our brief and were able to help us create our vision within the budget we had, making tweaks and changes until we were completely happy with the design. Working with Setter Play, to produce their first edition of ‘Twig Hill’, was the best decision we have made for our outdoor provision in a long time. The children absolutely love climbing and swinging, and never a day goes by without it being in full use. Finding the money for the rubber mulch flooring was key to getting all year round use but we were so glad we did. I have been amazed at the enduring pull that Twig Hill has for the children and the inventive ways in which they use it. We couldn’t be happier with our climbing apparatus and with Setter for their guidance and support.

There are so many companies that provide outdoor equipment for schools I had previously found it difficult to know where to go. However, from the first engagement to the completion of the work I found Setter play to be professional and the products of a very high quality. I am often frustrated that companies are attentive throughout the bidding process, but then are difficult to engage during the project. This is not the case with Setter play. Both times I have used them, I have had regular contact with the MD or sales manager throughout and have been pleased to see them regularly visiting the site. I cannot fault the quality of the product or installation. The two projects I have used them for are a large canopy and an adventure trail. Both times they have listened carefully to our requirements and have come up with suggestions that improve our spaces and maximise our budget. We are now consulting with them with reference to the development of our early years outdoor area.
Having consulted with children, staff and parents we had a clear vision of what we wanted for our school grounds. However, it had been very difficult to find a company that really understood what we were after and could come up with a plan that worked on our very challenging, steep banks, which are full of springs. Setter came up with a design that we knew the children would love and that fitted beautifully into the school grounds and from start to finish they were fantastic to work with. They even coped with a last minute addition to the design, to landscape the grounds adjacent to the Twig Hill climber. The installation team were friendly and approachable, paying great attention to detail and very good at communicating with us as the project progressed. The children absolutely love their new playground, as do staff and parents, and we couldn’t recommend Setter more highly.
This was our first project with Setterplay.. They did not disappoint and provided a very professional service. Nothing was too much to ask of them and their knowledge and advice on play equipment showed expertise and experience.It was very important to the school that we had contractors who worked safely and communicated efficiently for the project to run smoothly. Setterplay developed a retreat garden for our pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties.They had vision for how to develop an area of our school that was underused and inaccessible. They have created a peaceful yet attractive area that enables the senses to be engaged.Their products are of high quality and look so attractive to play with.
We selected Setter Play to deliver two new play areas in our grounds, with an adventure trail in our tarmac play area and a large free-form climber on our playing field, complete with groundworks and rubber safety surfacing. We chose them due to their competitive pricing and personable service – Setter are as passionate about seeing children enjoy school as we are. We have been really pleased with the ease of communication with the staff at Setter throughout, and by the conduct of their installers on site, who finished the work promptly and with minimal disruption to our school. We are also very happy with the quality of Setter’s products and the finish of the work, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to any school looking to transform their playgrounds.
We absolutely love our new KS1 area, it is brilliant to see this disused space now being utilised purposefully and it is practical for all weathers too. Well done to you and the team for a creative design which is both aesthetically pleasing and, most importantly, beneficial to the children’s development.
