Automatic Door As from April 2013 BS7036(1996) has been superseded by BS EN16005:2012. The new standard is not retrospective therefore automatic doors installed before April 2013 can still be serviced to BS7036(1996). All new installations by SMDS are installed to BS EN16005:2012. If the existing sliding door system breaks down, a retro fit kit can be installed inside the existing header. The retro fit kit replaces the old control panel and motor and can utilise the existing sensors if they are in working order. This is a cost effective option in the event that your door fails beyond repair. Retrofit kits installed to BS7036 (1996).
Fully Automatic Swing Doors
These doors are normally activated by radar motion sensors, enabling the door to be fully open by the time the customer reaches the door. A fully automatic swing door require a safety sensor to be fitted to the opening side of the door leaf which will stop the doors movement if activated and to the closing side of the door leaf which will stop the door closing or reverse the doors movement if activated. The door system can be connected to an access control system. Existing manual swing doors may be suitable for conversion to an automatic swing door, Doors are installed to BS7036 (1996).
Low Energy Automatic Swing Doors
Due to the low forces that these units work at a low energy automatic door normally requires no safety sensors. The doors can be used as a normal push/pull swing door and activated by push pads. Existing manual swing doors may be suitable for conversion to low energy automatic swing doors, Doors are installed to BS7036 (1996).

The curtain being made from heavy gauge galvanised steel interlocking scrolled lath, ‘T’ bottom rail, steel side guides, steel end locks and where the site conditions or door size dictated ‘wind’ end locks are also fitted. The shutter can be left in its natural galvanised steel colour or powder coated to a RAL colour. The majority of industrial roller shutters are powered by a 3phase motor which is operated by a low level control panel or push button station. The motor is fitted with a manual haul chain so that the shutter can be operated in the event of a power failure. The option of a double skin lath is also available which increases security, insulation and wind resistance. A full repair and installation service on all types of industrial doors is offered.
Strip Curtains
Strip curtains are hung across an opening to reduce draughts, noise, dust and smoke and to prevent pests from entering an area while still allowing fork lift, pallet trucks and personnel to freely come and go. The strips are made of durable transparent PVC with the outer strips being coloured red to indicate the sides of the opening and come in various widths and thicknesses. A ribbed PVC strip is available which increases sealing technology and durability in heavy usage applications. The strips are hung from stainless steel hangers with the strips overlapping each other. Steel Door Sets
Steel door sets are an ideal solution for securing commercial premises, internal cash offices and secure rooms. The steel door is made from 1.2mm zinc coated steel folded to make a 45mm thick door leaf with an integral anti jemmy strip. As standard the door leaf has a honeycomb core though mineral wool or solid timber can be used upon request. The doors can be fitted with a variety of locking options including mechanical digi locks and panic hard ware and are fitted with overhead closer and heavy duty ball raised hinges. The door frame is made of 1.6mm zinc coated steel. The steel door sets can be finished in a variety of colours.

Industrial impact/traffic doors are fitted to the openings between the back and front of house. The doors are ideal for shop, restaurant and commercial premises that have a flow of traffic using cages, pallet trucks or other means of moving stock to and from the front of house. The doors swing in both directions and once passed through the doors return themselves to their original centred position. Rubber seals are fitted to the frame head and rear and leading edges of the door, reducing the transfer of energy, sound and dust between environments. Made from a high impact material and fitted with vision panels and polypropylene bumpers the doors come coloured white as standard though other colours are available.
