Rugged Indicators for Marine and Transportation Applications use New Stepper Motor Technology

Rugged analogue meters, using new stepper motor technology, are now available from Metrix Electronics Ltd.

Highly resistant to shock and vibration to EN 60 051 standards, they are particularly suitable for marine and transportation use. Applications include thrust direction, rudder position, propeller adjustment, RPM, temperature and speed.

Housed in 72, 96 or 144mm square DIN-size panel mounting cases with a choice of 270 or 360 degree pointer mechanisms. Typical units have a 4 to 20mA input range, while the scales can be customised to suit the user’s application (see 360 degree thrust angle example). Both the scale and pointer can be illuminated with adjustable brightness. The auxiliary power supply voltage is 18 to 36V DC. Operating temperature range is -25°C to +55°C.
