Children's Hospital Ward wakes up to Snakes and Ladders

The children of Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley are treated to a fun new flooring filled with snakes, ladders, rockets, trains and carosels.
As part of a recent refurbishment at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, over 2500m2 of Tarkett flooring was installed. iQ Granit was fitted in bedrooms, x-ray department corridors and suites, while Eminent Safe.T was used in prep areas and shower rooms. For the Children’s Ward, a wide range of images were created by Tarkett’s Floorcraft service, including carousels, rockets and trains. These help to brighten the whole area and provide a fun, colourful environment for the young patients. Hugh McDougall, Estates Projects Manager at the RAH, commented: “Having used Tarkett flooring in the hospital for many years we had no hesitation in choosing them again for this refurbishment. They offer valuable maintenance cost savings and the end result is aesthetically pleasing, particularly in the children’s ward.”

For the prep areas and shower rooms it was necessary to select a product with enhanced slip resistance, so Eminent Safe.T was specified. This features an R10 slip resistance rating with a flexibility that allows for easier coving and vertical installation.
Eminent Safe.T is available in 10 colours, which are designed to complement Tarkett’s other homogeneous vinyls, including iQ Granit. The Safe.T clean surface treatment provides a durable and easy to clean finish, also offering long-term savings in maintenance costs.
