Chipping Away at the Arborist Show
05 September 2008
The distributor for Echo and Bear Cat products will be launching latest chipper and range of tools at the Arborist 2008 Show.
Following the successful launch at the 2007 Arborist Show, Bear Cat plan to display the full range of Bear Cat products at the 2008 Show, to be held at the Bathurst Estate. Bear Cat chippers from 10cm (4”) towable units to 23cm (9”) capacity with hydraulic feed will be on display and available for full demonstration. Driven by a 50hp Kubota engine, the powerful 23cm (9”) Chipper is equipped with a hydrostatic feed control, providing the operator with infinite feed settings for all types of brush and debris. Also being demonstrated during the show is the 13cm (5”) PTO Chipper, which fits all CAT 1 tractors from 25-60hp. A great machine to move from job to job, this Bear Cat uses four reversible heat-treated steel chipper blades and a 38cm (15”) diameter feed roller with 10 knives to reduce branches of up to 13cm (5”) in diameter to fine chips, and a 360o rotating discharge chute directs the flow of chips where required.
On show will be the Bear Cat EZ TrimMowers - a range of heavy duty wheeled trimmers that can churn their way through the heaviest weeds, or lightly trim around the most intricate landscaping with ease.
Echo will have their full range of chainsaws, brushcutters, hedgetrimmers and power blowers on the stand, including several new models of chainsaw. The new CS-351WES and CS-450 are aimed at landscapers and commercial users, the new CS-351WES is equipped with the Echo 35.8cc two stroke engine, and a 35cm bar. With a weight of just 3.6kg, this model is lightweight yet powerful, and provides the operator with easy access controls, on a superbly balanced saw. The CS-351WES benefits from the ECHO Easy-Start system, which makes the starting procedure almost effortless. The CS-351WES has a SRP of £279 + Vat.
The larger CS-450 runs on a powerful 45cc two stroke engine, and is fitted with a 40cm bar. The CS-450 has been built to perform to the most exacting standards, and provides the user with outstanding reliability. An SRP of £439 + Vat makes the CS-450 extremely good value for the power and performance provided by this model.
In addition to many anti-vibration improvements, new chainsaw models feature Echo automatic lubrication, where the oil pump for the bar and chain is attached to the clutch. This means that the automatic lubrication of the chain ceases when the chain is not turning, therefore when the saw is idling, there is no oil being pumped to the bar and chain, resulting in zero oil leaks, and less oil is used.
All new Echo chainsaws have the innovative feature of automatic chain oiling, which is adjustable by the operator to suit different timbers of varied density and hardness. This versatile lubrication results in smoother cutting and prolongs the working life of the bar and chain.
