Patented Meter designs comply with latest international safety standards
28 May 2007
Two new GMW analogue panel meter families, available from Metrix Electronics, incorporate major design improvements to comply with these requirements.
The international safety standards IEC BS EN 61010-1:2001 now require electrical measuring equipment to have significantly increased creepage and clearance distances to enhance the protection of users against electrical hazards.
Two new GMW analogue panel meter families, available from Metrix Electronics, incorporate major design improvements to comply with these requirements. Ratings are typically Category III, 600V – suitable for 3-phase installations up to 1000V. GMW has been granted a European Patent (EP 1 508 786 A2) in recognition of the unique safety improvements now incorporated in their meters.
The economic BASIC and comprehensive VARIO series offer square DIN-size panel meters from 48mm up to 144mm with 90 and 240 degree mechanisms, and edgewise models from 18.5 x 48mm up to 144 x 72mm.
A new 140 page catalogue details the extensive choice of models: Moving iron and moving coil ammeters and voltmeters – for ac and dc applications, plus frequency, power, power factor and controller versions.
The full range of supporting accessories includes dc current shunts, ac current transformers, voltage dividers and protective terminal covers.
