Security For Filey Tourist Information Centre

Beehive Folding Partitions has been involved in a project at the Tourist Information centre, in the Yorkshire coastal town of Filey, on the East Coast of England.
The requirement was to divide the main information centre when closed from the entrance to the adjacent hall, which has a variety of activities with access gained through one of the two external doors. The requirements were to have a lockable partition, which would secure the information centre when closed. Beehive worked extensively with the council architect Martin Aston. The main obstacle to overcome was the lack of a suitable structure to take the weight of the partition, as a floor track was unacceptable in this instance.As part of the project Beehive designed, fabricated and installed on site a self supporting frame which carried the weight of the lockable partition blending in with the existing colour scheme.
One of the benefits of this type of partition is ease of use for the centre staff. It can be locked from either side and has a foot stop to enhance rigidity in the centre.
The installation of this partition enables the Tourist Information centre to be secure whilst activities are conducted in the adjacent hall, which is accessed from the outside through one of the two Tourist Information entry doors.
