Specialist Educational Furniture specified for Primary and Secondary School installation

David Bailey Furniture Systems has supplied fitted furniture to the value of £44,200 for TreeHouse’s new Pears National Centre for Autism Education, which runs a specialist primary and secondary school for children and young people with autism.
Fitted Specialist Classroom Furniture
Specified by Nightingale Associates, fitted furniture with a natural colour palette inspired a calm and relaxed environment in the classrooms and staff room for the children and staff. Wall-mounted and floor-standing units with an ambient and soothing turquoise colour scheme were used to furnish the medical rooms whilst metallic coloured worktops were chosen to compliment the kitchen furniture including the ovens and washbasins in the teaching kitchens.
Executive Head Teacher at Treehouse, Gill Bierschenk, commented: “Our priority at TreeHouse is to transform through education the lives of children with autism and the lives of their families. We wanted to choose a cool and refreshing colour scheme to create a calm environment where the children can both learn and play. Also important was the selection of robust hinges and joinery to ensure optimum safety.”
TreeHouse Primary and Secondary School Furniture
TreeHouse, the national charity for autism education, was founded in 1997 by parents of children with autism. Today the charity campaigns for better national autism education and runs the TreeHouse School for children and young people with autism. TreeHouse ensures that autism education is a national priority by undertaking policy and parliamentary work and research. Treehouse also supports parents to campaign locally by offering consultancy and training on autism education.
The refurbishment was completed by David Bailey working with Nightingale Associates and South Eastern Carpentry Limited.
