Young onset dementia
According to current figures, 44,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with Young Onset Dementia (YOD).
Unlike Late Onset Dementia (LAD), usually associated with aging, Alzheimer’s decease, vascular or mixed dementia, YOD is likely due to rare causes and generally more difficult to diagnose. Most of the reported complaints with suspected YOD such as poor concentration, memory and cognitive issues can be attributable to social pressures including Stress, Anxiety and Depression.
Our aim is to help raise awareness to YOD, to provide sources of contact and offer Assisitve Technology solutions to aid Independent Living.
If you have concerns for someone that you suspect may be experiencing YOD, visit Young Dementia https://www.youngdementiauk.org/ for useful resources. @YoungDementiaUK #dementia #memoryloss #Alzheimer’s @alzheimerssoc
