Lesotho's PM completes his cabinet
20 July 2017
After the 2017 elections, Tom Thabane, leader of the All Basotho Convention (ABC), agreed a coalition with the Alliance of Democrats (AD, a splinter from the opposition Democratic Congress (DC)), the Basotho National Party (BNP) and the one-seat Reformed Congress of Lesotho (RCL).
Thabane was sworn in as prime minister on 16 June. His cabinet, most of whom took office a week later, included one member elected to the National Assembly for the opposition DC.Five remaining vacancies were filled on 12 July, the day after Senators were sworn in.
Thabane had previously held office as prime minister from June 2012 to March 2015, except for four days in August-September 2014 when he was ousted by a coup and fled to South Africa.
