Vulcascots' cable protection for heavy duty cables and pipes
06 May 2009
As power cables found on construction sites get ever larger, the need for protection becomes more crucial.
Large diameter cables and pipes supplying all types of electrical equipment are left randomly scattered and often forgotten particularly in the early stages of the site development. This is where danger lurks!
Power cables are necessary on every part of the building site but over time inevitably they can become semi buried in mud or discarded building site rubble and it is at this point that the cables can be fatally damaged by huge site vehicles. To help prevent such potential accidents, Vulcascot have designed and produced a variety of heavy duty, flexible cable protectors which are large enough to cover most standard cables or pipes. The choice of which Industrial section to use in these arduous conditions ultimately depends on cable dimensions. Both the Industrial and TTC sections combine rugged material strength with maximum flexibility giving maximum protection to the cables regardless of the type of traffic.
To compliment the TTC range, Vulcascot, the manufacturers of the World’s most comprehensive range of surface laid, flexible cable protectors have just added their largest profile to date. The new Temporary Traffic Calmer section coded TTC/4 has a rectangular cavity measuring 27mm x 56mm and is large enough to accept most standard diameter cables.
Along with existing Vulcascot Industrial profiles, the new TTC/4 profile has many additional safety features notably it is fire retardant, produces only low smoke and non toxic fume levels in the event of fire and is manufactured in accordance with BS 476 Part 7 class 3 and its European counter part, The Temporary Traffic Calmer range has also been electrically tested for non conductivity to BS 903-C5, 500v.
